R-2020-049 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF AN ADVANCED CARDIAC MONITOR IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $32,692.98 WHEREAS, City Code Section 135.070.B authorizes the City to contract with a vendor for the purchase of goods or services without utilizing the competitive bidding procedures when, in the opinion of the Board of Aldermen, the contract would be in the best interest of the City; and WHEREAS, despite City Code Section 135.070.13, City staff has nonetheless identified a cooperative purchasing program offering the product herein described. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: THAT the Board of Aldermen finds and determines that it is in the best interest of the City to authorize the purchase of one (1) Advanced Cardiac Monitor from Zoll Medical Corporation without utilizing the competitive bidding procedures, and the attached quote sheets describing the purchase in the total amount of$32,692.98 is hereby approved; and FURTHER THAT the Mayor, the City Administrator, the Fire Chief, and other appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Resolution and to execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other 1 documents, as may be necessary or convenient to perform all matters herein authorized. City of Riverside Resolution Cover Memo July 2020 Memo Date: June 24, 2020 Agenda Date: July 7, 2020 To: Mayor and Board of Aldermen From: Fire Chief Gordon Fowlston Re: Replacement of Advanced Cardiac Monitor BACKGROUND: In this year's budget we were approved to replace our last 2013 Cardiac Monitor that is no longer serviceable. The purchase is available through Zoll Medical through the National Purchasing Partners(NPP) Cooperative bid agreement. The equipment to be purchased is the Zoll X series Manual Monitor/ Defibrillator. Several other advantages will be obtained by purchasing the Zoll X series model. This is compatible with the other we have. We currently have Zoll basic AED's on the police cars, and throughout city facilities, the patches applied to the patient using those AED's can be used without making changes. KCFD as well as most of the departments around use this brand so we can easily transfer the patients to an ambulance. RECOMMENDATION: 3 Staff recommends approval of the resolution to purchase the two Zoll advanced cardiac monitors using the budgeted amount.
