HomeMy WebLinkAbout1737 Amendment to Salary Ordinance 1734 for Appointed City Prosecutor BILL NO. 2020-036 ORDINANCE NO. 17,3 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE SALARY IN ORDINANCE 1734 FOR THE APPOINTED CITY PROSECUTOR FOR RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI WHEREAS, Section 110.040 of the City Code establishes the appointive office of City Prosecutor and Section 79.230 RSMo provides for the appointment of such office by the Mayor with the consent and approval of the majority of the members of the Board of Aldermen, and WHEREAS, the Mayor recommended Amy Rager Ashelford be appointed to the position of City Prosecutor on September 10, 2010, which was confirmed and approved by the Board of Aldermen, until such time as a successor is duly appointed and qualified; and WHEREAS, Ordinance 1734 was approved by the Board of Aldermen with the inaccurate salary at 18,800.00 and the Board of Aldermen had approved the adjustment to $18,939.00; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 — APPOINTMENT. That the appointed Amy Rager Ashelford was confirmed and approved on September 10, 2010, until such time as a successor is duly appointed and qualified. SECTION 2 — SALARY AND BENEFITS. The salary for the position shall be amended to $18,939.00 annually. The position shall be part time and no additional benefits are provided. Fees and expenses in connection with appeals from the Riverside Municipal Court shall be paid on an hourly rate to be approved by the City Administrator prior to any fee or expense being incurred. SECTION 3 — SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. The provisions of this ordinance are severable and if any provision hereof is declared invalid, unconstitutional or unenforceable. such determination shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance. SECTION 4 — EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage. BE IT REMEMBERED that the above was read two times by heading only, PASSED AND APPROVED by a majority of the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Riverside.
