Home My WebLink About1740 Renner Brenner Park Playground Safety Surfacing Financial Assistance Agreement with Missouri Department of Natural Resources Purchase from Taylormade BILL NO. 2020-039 ORDINANCE NO. 1 0 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND ALSO APPROVING A PURCHASE FROM TAYLORMADE COMPANY, ALL RELATED TO RENNER BRENNER PARK PLAYGROUND SAFETY SURFACING BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City of Riverside("City")made application for the 2020 Playground Scrap Tire Material Grant ("Grant") from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). The City has been awarded the reimbursement grant in the amount of$30,000.00. Section 2. City Code Section 135.070.13 authorizes the City to contract with a vendor for the purchase of goods or services without utilizing the competitive bidding procedures when, in the opinion of the Board of Aldermen('Board"),the purchase would be in the best interest of the City. Section 3. The Board determines that the purchase from Taylormade Company for Renner Brenner Park playground safety surfacing without utilizing the competitive bidding procedures is in the best interest of the City in that i) the City has been awarded a grant from MDNR towards the purchase of the playground safety surfacing, and ii) Taylormade's product meets the grant criteria regarding the use of recycled materials. Section 4. The Board hereby approves the Financial Assistance Agreement in connection with the Grant, in substantially the form attached hereto, by and between the City of Riverside and the MDNR. The Mayor is authorized to execute the Agreement on the City's behalf. Section 5. The Mayor, the City Administrator, and other appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Ordinance and to execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments,agreements and other documents, as may be necessary or convenient to perform all matters herein authorized. Section 6. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
