HomeMy WebLinkAbout2003-05-13~r . a Minutes of Special Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri May 13, 2003 A special meeting of the Boazd of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall of Riverside, Missouri on May 13, 2003 at 6:30 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Beard, Darata, Legaazd, Burris, Looker and Flaws. Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator, John Jackson, City Engineer and Matt Kitzi, City Attorney's office. Public Hearing Opened Mayor Burch opened the Public Hearing to discuss the proposed suspension or Revocation of a liquor license for River Side Saloon. Public Hearing continued Alderman Beard moved to table the hearing for the River Side Saloon until the next meeting. Catherine Haskins Catherine Haskins, Corporate Communications gave an update on the group Corporate Communi- media round table and reception stating all the board members would be sent out a monthly calendar. Building Pemrit Alderman Looker moved to approve the Building Pernrit/Strnctural Plans for Structural Plans/ Ralph/Sandra Schmude for certain tornado damaged duplexes on Homestead Ralph/Sandra Schmude Road, seconded by Alderman Legaazd, the vote was: Approved Aye: Aldermen Looker, Darata, Bums, Legaard, Flaws and Beard. Motion carries. Public Hearing Mayor Burch opened the Public Hearing continued from May 6'" to continued for Red-X consider approval for Riverside Red-X to park semi-trailers at 2401 W. Platte Rd. to park semi's at 2401 W. Platte Rd. No comments from the public were made and Mayor Burch closed the Public Hearing at 8:05 p.m Special Use Permit Alderman Beard moved to approve a Special Use Permit for Riverside Red X, to park semi-trailers 2401 W. Platte Road to park semi-trailers at this location, seconded by at 2401 W Platte Rd Alden~nan Burris, the vote was: Approved Aye: Aldermen Darata, Bums, Leggard, Flaws, Beard and Looker. Motion carries. Motion for Closed Alderman Looker moved that the meeting go into closed session, pursuant Session to RSMo 610.021(1) for discussion of Legal Issues and RSMo 610.021(2) Real Estate with the City Attorney, seconded by Alderman Legaard, and the vote was: Aye: Alderman Beazd, Darata, Bums, Flaws, Looker and Legaazd. Motion Carries. Mins. 5/13/03 Motion for Open Alderman Flaws moved that the meeting go into open session, seconded by Session at 9:05 p.m. Alderman Beard, and the vote was: Aye: Alderman Bums, Looker, Darata, Legaard, Beazd and Flaws. Motion Carries. KCPL Discussion The city requested an easement for the public right-of--way for Kansas City Power & Light Co. It was stated design issues need to be worked out. A discussion was held on the sand bag gap Phase I, to take about 3 weeks. John said a 3' wide trench would be dug for all utilities and lights on both sides of the sand bag gap and the up and over the levee. All three phases will be investigated.
