AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING PROVISION OF
SECURITY AT FIREWORKS TENTS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE,
MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 — AMENDMENT. That Section 605.320.Q of the Municipal Code of the City of
Riverside, Missouri be amended to read as follows (language to be added is underlined; and
language to be deleted contains a s#ile4weugh):
Q. Security Requirements. Any seasonal retailer that chooses to hire a security guard er
gums or otherwise permits or allows a person to hold himself/herself out as a security guard,
such as by the wearing of a badge, or clothing with words "Security" or "Security Officer," or
verbally representing to the public that he or she is a security guard, shall ensure that the guard)
meet(s)one (1) of the following qualifications:
1. The security guard is an off-duty Police Officer employed by the City or an off-
duty deputy with the Platte County Sheriffs Department; or
2. The security guard is a private security guard properly and validly licensed
pursuant to Chapter 228 of the Municipal Code of the City.
Any violation of this Section is punishable as provided in Section 100.240.
SECTION 2 — EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its passage and approval.
