Hauck recommended that the Board spend the year focusing on improvements to the skateboard park so that a plan could be developed and presented to the Board of Aldermen for funding consideration in the 2015-2016 budget cycle. The Board agreed. The Board also discussed future upgrades to EH Young Park. Completing a Master Plan on the park is still a priority. Hauck indicated that funding for that project was still 2-3 years out in the CIP. Johnson asked about the status of the pool. Wooddell reported that the pool was actually in very good condition, but Public Works would be making some upgrades to equipment and signage this year. The Board also discussed reconfiguring the pool entrance in future years. Wooddell and Buescher updated the board on maintenance issues in the parks. The update provided is attached. Hauck reminded the Parks Board about the upcoming Town Hall meeting on March 11. Johnson suggested that staff be prepared or questions about the park at 52nd and Northwood and the issues in Montebella, including who is responsible for the roads, waterfall, and street lights. Hauck and Warren discussed the new Operation Upstream initiative with the Parks Board. Hauck invited any members of the board who were interested in being a part of this project to let her know.
