HomeMy WebLinkAbout1766 Amending Municipal Code to Repeal Park Board Member Term Limits BILL NO. 2021-008 ORDINANCE NO. 1766 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE TO REPEAL PARK BOARD MEMBER TERM LIMITS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 — AMENDMENT. That Section 110.170 of the Municipal Code of the City of Riverside, Missouri is hereby amended to read as follows (language to be added is underlined; and language to be deleted contains a s#ikethr-etgh): A. The Board shall be composed of seven (7) citizen members with two (2) members from each ward, and one (1) at-large member. In addition, one (1) member of the Board of Aldermen will serve in an ex officio capacity. B. The citizen members shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the Board of Aldermen. C. The citizen members shall serve four(4)year terms. ED. Citizen members must be residents of the City of Riverside. FE. Citizen members will serve without compensation. 6F. Any citizen member may be removed by the Board of Aldermen. Any member who misses four (4) consecutive meetings shall be considered to have resigned. SECTION 2 — EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval. BE IT REMBERED that the above was read two times by heading only, PASSED AND APPROVED by a majority of the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Riverside this 20th day of April, 2021.
