HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-02-12 SpecialMinutes of Special Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri February 12, 2002 A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall of Riverside, Missouri at 5:30 p.m., February 12, 2002. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Burris, Wedua, Darata, Legaard, Beard and Flaws. Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator, John Jackson, City Engineer, John McClelland, City Attorneys office. Motion for Closed Alderman Legaard moved that [he meeting go into closed session pursuant to Session RSMo 610.021(1) Legal Issues and 610.021 (2) Real Estate with the City Attorney, seconded by Alderman Wedua, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Wedua, Darata, Legaard, Beard, Burris and Flaws. Motion carries. Motion for Open Alderman Darata moved that the meeting go into open session, Session seconded by Alderman Flaws ,the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Legaard, Beazd, Flaws, Wedua and Burris. Motion carries. Southwestern Bell Alderman Flaws moved to approve switching from the present phone carrier as phone carrier to Southwestern Bell at a cost of approximately $1,900, seconded by Alderman Approved Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Beard, Flaws, Wedua, Burris and Darata. Mo[ion carries. Laptop Computer Alderman Legaard moved approve purchasing a laptop computer at a cost of Approved $1,400 seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Beard, Flaws, Wedua, Burris, Darata and Legaard. Motion carries. Bill No. 2002-20 Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 2002-20 on its first reading, said Bill Appointment of ratifying the reappointment of Robert Krick Resident, Ward II, for a second five Robert Krick, year term and Gloria Hickman Resident, Ward III as a second alternate and Jerry Gloria Hickman, Hackenberg, Resident, ward III for a four year term to the Board of Zoning Jerry Hackenberg Adjustment, seconded by Alderman Wedua, the vote was: to BZA Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Burris, Wedua, Darata, Beard and Legaard. Motion carries Ordinance No. 2002-20 Alderman Wedua moved to place Bill No. 2002-20 on its second Approved reading and upon passage of same, become Ordinance No. 2002-20 seconded by Alderman Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Beard, Darata, Legaard, Wedua and Burns. Motion carries. Chief s comments Chief Simpson gave an update on the fire at 2020 W. Platte Rd, February 10, 2002 saying mutual aid arrived and there is an ongoing investigation.
