HomeMy WebLinkAbout1787 Memorandum of Understanding with Mid-Continent Public Library BILL NO. 2021-030 ORDINANCE NO. 1O AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH MID-CONTINENT PUBLIC LIBRARY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 — AGREEMENT APPROVED. That the Riverside Board of Aldermen approves the Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Riverside and Mid-Continent Public Library, in substantially the form attached hereto, and the Mayor is authorized to execute the Memorandum on behalf of the City. SECTION 2 — AUTHORITY GRANTED. The Mayor, the City Administrator and other appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Ordinance and to execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements, and other documents, as may be necessary or convenient to perform all matters herein authorized. SECTION 3 — EFFECTIVE DATE. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. Rose c*'ATTEST: ,Robin Kincaid,'City-Clerk Memorandum of Understanding between City of Riverside and Mid-Continent Public Library The City of Riverside has installed an 18-stop StoryWalk in the E.H. Young Riverfront Park for visitors to enjoy year round. The City has asked Mid-Continent Public Library to support this program.The following outlines the individual responsibilities of the City and the Library. The City of Riverside warrants that it will fulfill the following: 1. Provide a suitable location for the display system. 2. Maintenance of the 18-stop StoryWalk display system and trail including the installation of inserts and repairs and all associated cost. 3. Place the laminated pages of each story in the display system. 4. Communicate the title and change-out in schedule to MCPL Youth Services Department a minimum of two weeks prior to a new story's placement. 5. Communicate the title and change-out in schedule to the public a minimum of 48 hours in advance. Mid-Continent Public Library warrants that it will fulfill the following: 1. Select and supply story inserts six to eight stories per year based on the specifications provided by the City. Provide a proposed schedule for when stories should be installed with each story being installed for approximately six weeks. 2. Purchase books that are no larger than 12x18(two-page spread) and that consist of no more than 16-18 spreads(32-34 total pages). 3. Assemble laminated spreads and deliver to the City for placement in the display system. This Memorandum of Understanding(MOU)does not create a partnership or joint venture. Term:This MOU will continue for a two-year term. Upon agreement of both entities, this MOU may be extended for additional two-year terms.
