Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri

A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the
City Hall of Riverside, Missouri on May 14, 2002 at 6:30 p.m.
Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Bums, Beard, Looker, Darata, Legaard,
and Flaws.
Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator, City Attorney's office, John McClelland.
A meeting was held on May 14,2002 with Mayor Burch, Alderman Beard, Lillie Trimble and
Sandra Schmude discussing Gate Woods covenants, common area and water shed. Some time ago, Mr.
Jim Trimble, Gate Woods Development offered the city large rocks. He said the offer isn't any good now.
It was a unanimous decision to have a workshop session on May 28a' at 6:30 p.m. here at the City
Hall with Gate Woods Development.
David passed out right-of-way easements for NW Gateway and the board reviewed the easements
and a discussion was held. He said 85% of the easements would be signed with no conditions, but there
was several that we don't know the status.
There is no federal funding for upper half of Gateway. The easements for this area were discussed.
It was agreed unanimously for the city to try to get the easements so we can proceed.
In 2001, $7,500 was paid to Jeremiah Finnegan, Finnegan, Conrad Peterson, L.C. towards the
Mo. Gas Energy rate case. In 2002, only $250 has been spent out of special legal fees.
Alderman Beard made a motion to proceed with Jeremiah Finnegan, Finnegan, Conrad &
Peterson, L.C. to continue with the Mo. American Water rate case and spend an additional $17,500,
seconded by Alderman Beard the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Burris, Looker, Flaws, Darata and Beard. Motion carries.
Hopefully, an agreement can be negotiated with Mo. American Water Co. in the future.
Mayor Burch said Gary Smith with Ful] Moon Homes had presented an application for a building
permit to the Planning & Zoning Commission May 9th . A discussion was held regarding modular homes
in the Lakota Court area and it was stated there are some things in our zoning code that may determine
whether the proposed building/use will have an adverse effect upon or reduce property values in question
and the property in the immediate vicinity.
The meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
