HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-08-27 Special Minutes of Special Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri August 27, 2002 A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hal] of Riverside, Missouri on August 27, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Burns, Beard, Looker, Legaard, Dazata and Flaws. Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator, John Jackson, City Engineer, Chief Wylie Simpson and Matt Kitzi, City Attorney's office. Bill No. 2002-100 Alderman Dazata moved to place Bill No. 2002-100 on its first reading, Payment of Bills said Bill authorizing the payment of certain indebtedness listed therein, seconded by Alderman Legaard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Looker, Flaws, Darata, Legaazd, Beard and Burris, Motion carries. Ordinance No. 2002-100 Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No. 2002-100 on its second reading Approved and upon passage of same, become Ordinance No. 2002-100 seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Darata, Legaazd, Beard, Looker and Burris. Motion carries. Bill No. 2002-101 Alderman Beazd moved to place Bill No. 2002-101 on its first reading, Bethany D. Volkman said Bill approve hiring Bethany D. Volkman as a full time dispatcher hired as a full time P.S. in Public Safety at $26,000 annually with full benefits and a one Dispatcher year work test period and starting afrer completion of the required physical on August 21, 2002, seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Dazata, Legaard, Beard, Looker, Bums and Flaws. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 2002-101 Alderman Bums moved to place Bill No. 2002-101 on its second Approved reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance no. 2002-101 seconded by Alderman Legaard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Beard, Looker, Burris, Flaws and Darata. Motion carries. Bill No. 2002-102 Alderman Dazata moved to place Bill No. 2002-102 on its first reading, Ratifying the acceptance of said Bill ratifying the acceptance of bids on $11,405,520.23, seconded bids on $11,405,520.23 by Alderman Looker, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Dazata, Legaard, Beazd, Looker, Burns and Flaws. Motion carries. 1 T Ordinance No. 2002-102 Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 2002-102 on its second Approved reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance no. 2002-102, seconded by Alderman Legaard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Beard, Looker, Burris, Flaws and Darata. Motion carries. Bill No. 2002-103 Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No. 2002-103 on its first reading, Authorizing the First said Bill authorizing and approving the first amendment to the Amendment to the Cooperative Cooperative Agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri Agreement between the city and Riverside, Missouri regarding the transfer and operation of and KCMG regarding Riverside's wastewater collection system, seconded by Alderman transfer and operation of Beard, the vote was: Riverside's wastewater collection system Aye: Aldermen Burns, Darata, Legaazd, Beard, Looker, and Flaws. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 2002-103 Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 2002-103 on its on its second Approved reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance no. 2002-103 seconded by Alderman Burris, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Beard, Looker, Burris, Flaws and Darata. Motion carries. Bill No. 2002-104 Alderman Legaard moved to place Bill No. 2002-104 on its first Approving and authorizing reading, said Bill approving and authorizing the execution of an the execution of an agreement agreement for professional services for landscaping along for professional services with NW Gateway with Patti Banks Associates in the amount of $25,940, Patti Bank Associates seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Dazata, Legaard, Burns, Beard, Looker, and Flaws. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 2002-104 Alderman Legaazd moved to place Bil] No. 2002-104 on its second Approved reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance no. 2002-104 seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Dazata, Legaard, Beazd, Looker, Bums, and Flaws. Motion carries. Motion for Closed Alderman Legaazd moved that the meeting go into closed session, Session pursuant to RSMo 610.0212(1) for discussion of Legal Issues, RSMo 610.021(2)Real Estate, and RSMo 610.021(3) Personnel Issues with the City Attorney, seconded by Alderman Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Dazata, Legaard, Beard, Flaws, Looker and Burris. Motion carries. Motion for Open Alderman Beard moved that the meeting go into open session, Session seconded by Alderman Burris, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Beard, Flaws, Looker, Darata and Burris.
