HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-09-24 Special~~ . {a Minutes of Special Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri September 24, 2002 A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall of Riverside, Missouri on September 24, 2002. At 5:30 p.m. the Mayor and Board of Aldermen toured to observe the progress of the levee project. The meeting at City Hall began at 7:00 p.m. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Darata, Legaard, Burris and Flaws. Alderman Beazd arrived at 7:00 p.m. Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator, John Jackson, City Engineer, Chief Wylie Simpson and Matt Kitzi, City Attorney's office. Building Permit Alderman Looker moved to approve a building permit for Upschulte Enterprises for Upschulte Ent's. (Mean Gene's) 4603 NW Gateway for an exterior concrete slab and Approved refrigeration equipment, seconded by Alderman Burns, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Beazd, Flaws, Looker, Burns and Dazata. Motion carries. Bill No. 2002-114 Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No. 2002-114 on its first reading, said Bill Authorizing the execution of and approving the water main extension and deposit agreement between Missouri-American Water Company, Platte County District and the City of Riverside, Missouri, seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Beard, Flaws, Looker, Bums, Darata and Legaazd. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 2002-114 Alderman Legaazd moved to place Bill No. 2002-114 on its second reading Approved and upon passage of same, become Ordinance No. 2002-114 seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Darata, Legaard, Beard, Looker and Burns. Motion carries. PSI Environmental Alderman Burris moved to approve PSI Environmental Geotechnical Const. to do exploration 4106 W. Riverside Street to perform geotechnical exploration and construction & construction materials testing for the new Riverside Public Safety Facility, NW Vivion Road, materials testing for the for $13,184.50 including [he roof, seconded by Alderman Legaard and the vote new PS facility was: Approved Aye: Aldermen Beard, Flaws, Looker, Burris, Dazata and Legaard. Motion carries 1 T -~ Resident comment Evelyn Poe, 3002 NW Florence commented, that to her satisfaction, the nice job Public Works performed on the clean up on the west side of the post office. KCPL Discussion No discussion was held for Kansas City Power and Light Co, as a spokesperson did not appear. Motion for Closed Alderman Burns moved that the meeting go into closed session pursuant to Session RSMo 610.02 (2) Real Estate with the City Attorney, seconded by Alderman Looker and the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Looker, Burns, Darata, Legaard and Beard. Motion carries. Motion for Open Alderman Beard moved that the meeting go into open session at 7:24 p.m. Session seconded by Alderman Flaws and the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Dazata, Burns, Beazd, Looker, Legaard and Flaws. Motion carries. Workshop Session A workshop session was held with Hoefer, Wysocki, Architects and McGowan Gordon Construction regarding the new Public Safety Facility. Design of the Alderman Beazd moved to approve starting the design of the new Public Safety new PS Facility Facility, to be completed in less than thirty (30) days, seconded by Alderman for completion in Flaws and the vote was: less than 30 days, Approved Aye: Aldermen Darata, Burns, Beard, Looker, Legaard and Flaws. Motion carries. Aldermen comments Alderman Burns mentioned the lights on the bell tower were not on over the weekend. Alderman Beazd asked for an investigation regarding a sign permit on the name change for Scherer Trucking to America's Body Co. John Jackson, City Engineer will report at the next meeting on this matter. City Administrator David Blackburn, City Administrator said he wished to proceed with the adoption of the 2000 International Building Codes Statute requires ninety (90) days notice before this can be accomplished.
