Minutes of Special Meeting of
Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri
October 29, 2002
A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the
City Hall of Riverside, Missouri on October 29, 2002 at 6:00 p.m.
Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Burris, Beard, Looker, Legaard, Darata
and Flaws.
Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator and Matt Kitzi, City Attorney's office.
Motion for Closed Alderman Darata moved that the meeting go into closed session,
Session pursuant to 610.021(1) LegalIssues, 610.021(2) Real estate and
610.021(3) Personnel Issues with the City Attorney; seconded by Alderman
Legaard, and the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Beard, Darata, Burris, Flaws, Looker and Legaard.
Motion Carnes.
Motion for Open Alderman Beard moved that the meeting go into open session,
Session at 6:45 p.m. seconded by Alderman Burns, and the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Darata, Bums, Beard, Looker, Legaard and Flaws.
Motion Carnes.
Discussion A discussion was held regarding the changes in restrictions in single family
dwellings as follows:
1. The maximum percent of slope on a driveway.
2. The maximum number of risers on slopes.
3. The maximum differences in elevations.
4. The maximum deviation on the top and bottom of a retaining wall.
5. Topographical survey of each lot, plot plan tied to USGS Data.
6. Finished Floor elevation compatible of the homes on each side, in
neighborhood.
7. Restrictions will apply to all single family homes.
Announcements The annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will be December 5`" at 5:30 p.m.
at the former (Union Hall).
The annual employees Christmas Party will be December 8`h at 6:00 p.m. at the
Community Center.
Bill No. 2002-121 Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 2002-121 on its first reading, said Bill
Authorizing the city authorizing the City of Riverside, Missouri to pay certain funds to the Greater
to pay certain funds Kansas City Community Foundation for the downtown Kansas City Bridge
the Greater Kansas City Lighting Fund, seconded by Alderman Burris, the vote was:
Comm. Fdn.
Aye: Aldermen Beard, Flaws, Looker, Darata, Bums and Legaard.
Motion carries.

Ordinance No. 2002-121 Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No. 2002-121 on its second reading
Approved and upon passage of same, become Ordinance No. 2002-119 seconded by
Alderman Looker and the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Darata Legaard, Beazd, Looker and Burns.
Motion carries.
Adjournment By unanimous decision, the boazd adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
