A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE PURCHASE, CONSTRUCTION AND/OR OPERATION OF
ILLEGAL GAMING FACILITIES, DEVICES THAT ARE NOT SUBJECT TO THE SAME
CONSTITUTIONAL AND STATUTORY RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED ON MISSOURI'S
EXISTING LICENSED RIVERBOAT GAMING FACILITIES
WHEREAS; Missouri's riverboat gaming industry provides more than 10,000 jobs in
Missouri; and
WHEREAS; Missouri's riverboat gaming industry has contributed more than $300 million
to the State's school funding formula; and
WHEREAS; Missouri's riverboat gaming industry has contributed nearly $100 million to
local economies and has reported charitable contributions of over $1 million annually; and
WHEREAS; the restrictions placed upon the Missouri's riverboat gaming industry have
been repeatedly approved by voters and regulated by the Missouri Gaming Commission and
Missouri Highway Patrol; and
WHEREAS; voter approved and required Constitutional restrictions, Legislatively
approved Statutory restrictions, and Missouri Gaming Commission's Regulatory policies and
restrictions have defined the geographic locations and other restrictions imposed upon the
industry, thus expressing and enforcing the will of the citizens of Missouri; and
WHEREAS; the Riverside, MO community would be adversely impacted economically by
the operation of illegal gambling devices and facilities, operated in violation of voter approved and
required Constitutional, Statutory and Regulatory restrictions established by the State
constitution, Legislatively approved Statutes, and Regulations adopted by the Missouri Gaming
Commission; and
WHEREAS; the City of Riverside, MO could be adversely impacted by the illegal operation
of gaming devices and facilities operated in violation of the voter approved and required
Constitutional, Statutory and Regulatory restrictions imposed on gambling in the State.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Riverside, MO does hereby
oppose the construction and operation of illegal gaming devices and facilities that are operating
in violation of the voter approved and required Constitutional, Statutory and Regulatory
restrictions imposed on Missouri's existing riverboat gaming industry.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk is hereby instructed to forward a copy
of this resolution to Governor of the State of Missouri, Representatives and Senators across the
State, the Missouri Gaming Commission and the Department of the Interior.
