Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside
January 30, 2001
A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall at
7:00 p.m. in Riverside, Missouri on January 30, 2001.
Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Andy Morse, Pam Darata, Ray Beard, Rochelle
Legaard, Ray Beard and George Flaws.
Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator, Wylie Simpson, Police Chief and Steve Crystal,
City Attorney.
Motion for Closed Session Alderman Flaws moved that the meeting go into closed session pursuant to
RSMo 610.021(1) Legal issues, RSMo (2) Real Estate, and RSMo 610.021 (3)
Personnel Issues with the City Attorney, seconded by Alderman Morse, the vote
was:
Aye: Aldermen Beard, Darata, Super, Flaws, Morse and Legaard.
Motion carves.
Motion for Open Session Alderman Super moved that the meeting go imo open session, sewnded by
Alderman Darata, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Morse, Darata, Beard, Legaard, Flaws and Super.
Motion carries.
Recess A brief recess was called at 8:25 p.m.
Reconvene All the Alderman and Mayor responded to roll call.
50`" Street Discussion Mayor Burch read a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Poe. No decision was reached on
the easements. A request from the Poe's was made to have the sidewalk on the
South and a request for rock and fence. The Mayor will negotiate with Mr. and
Mrs. Poe regarding the temporary and permanent easements.
Cherokee drainage discussion A unanimous decision was reached to wait until it rains so the Aldermen could
see if the drainage project done by Ponzer-Youngquist was successful.
Chief Simpson's comments Chief Simpson thanked the board for the new fire truck. The Chief said it would
be delivered February 9a' and it would be taken to Columbia, Mo. February 8th
for fire school with the cost of the trip being $85.00.
New City Hall The furniture was discussed for the new City Hall and it was unanimously
furniture discussion decided to await Hoefer-Wysocki's bid.
Selective Alternatives
Approved Alderman Beard made a motion for the Board to make selective alternatives on
bids for other fiuniture dealers, seconded by Alderman Super, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen, Super, Morse, Legaard, Darata, Flaws and Beard.
Motion carries.
Letter from Jeremiah Finnegan Mayor Burch read a letter from Jeremiah Finnegan, Attorney for the water rate
read case which included the briefs from the current law suit.
Adjournment By general consent, the meeting adjourned at 10:40 p.m.
