HomeMy WebLinkAbout1837 New Hire Jeff Taylor Full-Time Maintenance Worker 1 BILL NO. 2022 — 014 ORDINANCE NO. / 2 3 ` - AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF JEFF TAYLOR AS A FULL-TIME MAINTENANCE WORKER 1 IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AND ESTABLISHING A SALARY AND START DATE FOR SUCH EMPLOYEE WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.070 provides for the appointment of employees of the City by the City Administrator with approval of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen: and WHEREAS, City Code Section 110.140 provides for the establishment of the salary of non- elected employees of the City by ordinance; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it is in the best interest of the City to approve the appointment of Jeff Taylor as Maintenance Worker 1 in the Public Works Department as provided herein; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 — HIRING OF EMPLOYEE. Jeff Taylor is hereby employed as a Maintenance Worker 1 in the Public Works Department. SECTION 2 — STARTING SALARY. The starting salary for this position shall be set at $18.00/$37,440. The salary shall thereafter be adjusted according to the annual budget and the personnel policies and procedures of the City as may be adopted from time to time. SECTION 3 - REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 4 — SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. The provisions of this ordinance are severable and if any provision hereof is declared invalid, unconstitutional or unenforceable, such determination shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance. SECTION 5 — EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect as of May 4, 2022.
