Minutes of Special Meeting of
Boazd of Aldermen of City of Riverside
Apri124, 2001
A special meeting of the Boazd of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the
City Hall of Riverside, Missouri on Apri124, 2001.
Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen, Beazd, Burris, Flaws, Dazata and
Legaazd. Alderman Morse, absent.
Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator, and Chief Wylie Simpson.
Grant Ackerman A discussion was held regazding the old City Hall (Public Safety) remodel.
Universal Construction A lengthy discussion was held regarding obtaining the cost of squaze footage to
bring the cost down. It was decided to go with the design work that was
prepazed by Brinkley Sergeant. The cost per squaze footage needs to be
investigated and revised. The final outcome was a $3.5 million budget and will
be discussed at the May 8`s meeting.
Bill No. 2001-46 Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 2001-46 on its first
Payment of Bills reading, said Bill authorizing the payment of certain indebtedness listed therein,
seconded by Aldern~an Flaws, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Darata, Beazd, and Burris.
No: Alderman Legaazd
Alderman Morse, absent.
Motion carries.
Ordinance No. 2001-46 Alderman Dazata moved to place Bill No. 2001-46 on its second reading and
Approved upon passage of same, become Ordinance No. 2001-46, seconded
by Alderman Beazd, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Burris, Darata, Beard, and Flaws.
No: Alderman Legaard.
Alderman Morse, absent.
Motion carries.
Discussion on several A discussion was held regazding Harry's, the old Library building behind
Buildings Harry's and Leisure Motors regazding removing the rusty poles in back of these
buildings. This will be investigated.
Motion for Closed Alderman Legaazd moved that the meeting go into closed session pursuant to
Session RSMo 610.021(1) Legal issues, RSMo 610.021(2), Real Estate, RSMo
610.021(3), Personnel Issues with the Attorney, seconded by Alderman Beazd,
the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Bums, Dazata, Legaard, Beard and Flaws.
Absent: Alderman Morse.
Motion carries.
Motion for Open Alderman Beazd moved that the meeting go into open session, seconded by
Session Alderman Flaws, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Darata, Legaard, Beard, Flaws and Burris.
Absent: Alderman Morse
