R-2022-084 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SIX (6) MOTOROLA CONSOLETTES AND THREE (3) DESK SETS FOR THE COMMUNICATIONS UNIT OFF THE JOHNSON COUNTY KANSAS COOPERATIVE BID PRICING IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $60,156.11. WHEREAS, the Communications Department has a need to replace 12-year-old original equipment that is unable to be updated; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities through the cooperative bidding process; and WHEREAS, Johnson County, Kansas has competitively bid and awarded a contract #21810 with Motorola Solutions to purchase such equipment; and WHEREAS, funds for such purpose were budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 budget; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of six (6) Motorola consolettes and three (3) desk sets for Communications off the Johnson County, Kansas cooperative bid list pricing in an amount not to exceed $60,156.11. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: THAT, the purchase of purchase of six (6) Motorola consolettes and three (3) desk sets for Communications off the Johnson County, Kansas cooperative bid list pricing in an amount not to exceed $60,156.11 is hereby authorized and approved; and FURTHER THAT the Mayor, City Administrator, or other designee, is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto. Ab . ; S Resolution Overview OFFICER AGENDA DATE: July 19, 2022 BACKGROUND: This request is for the purchase of six Motorola Consolettes for the communications unit. The original equipment is 12-years old and unable to be updated. With the new system enhancements. the region is preparing for, our current equipment is not capable of accommodating the new infrastructure. These devices are the core of the radio system for our city. In the event the system goes down, there are the units we use a backup communication devices. This request is part of the 2022-2023 fiscal budget. The purchase is being made off the Johnson County Kansas Cooperative Contract 21810. BUDGETARY IMPACT: $61,000
