A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF AN AUTOPULSE CPR
DEVICE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE,
MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the Board approves the purchase of an AutoPulse CPR device from ZOLL
Medical Corporation in the amount $14,053.20 in accordance with the attached Quote No. Q-
40766; and
FURTHER THAT the Mayor, the City Administrator, the Fire Chief, and other
appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed
necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Resolution and to execute
and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other
documents, as may be necessary or convenient to perform all matters herein authorized.

Re: Purchase of an Zoll Auto Pulse System CPR device
BACKGROUND:
In the 20 the Board of Alderman approved the purchase of Zoll Auto Pulse CPR device for the fire
department. In the 2023 fiscal year the department budgeted $15,000 to purchase a second one to be able
have in service.
We are using this device more frequently, when we do it stays with the PT while being transported to the
hospital, this means we are without during this time frame. Additionally, it is starting to show its use and
age as it has needed maintenance more often. This new one will become our front-line use device and the
older one a backup.
Since that purchase we have used this device to assist our members of the fire department is doing CPR
on Heart Attack victims an average of 4 times a month. This device has proven to be invaluable to our
citizens and has been instrumental in saving lives. Most recently was the gentleman that had run off the
road into the trees off Vivion on our east city limits.
Since our purchase KCFD has seen the value of them, as we were able to help provide data that proves
their value, due to this they have started to outfit units with them as well.
The purchase is available through Zoll Medical through the National Purchasing Partners (NPP)
Cooperative bid agreement. In addition, buy purchasing a like unit to the one we have we do not have to
purchase additional chargers for the battery's as well as other accessories.
The equipment to be purchased is the Auto -Pulse® System with Pass Thru. Additionally, this purchase
includes 3 spare batteries, a case, and the straps used to secure the patient to the device.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the resolution to purchase one (1) Zoll Auto -Pulse system using the
budgeted amount.
BUDGETARYIMPACT:
The NPP Cooperative pricing for one (1) Zoll Auto -Pulse system is S14,053.20
