HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-07-26 Special4't Minutes of Special Meeting of Boazd of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri July 26, 2001 A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall of Riverside, Missouri at 6:30 p.m., July 26, 2001. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Charles Bums, Jim Wedua, Pam Darata, Rochelle Legaazd, Ray Beard and George Flaws and David Blackburn, City Administrator. Bill No. 2001-84 Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 2001-84 on Payment of BIIIs its first readin said Bill authorizin the a g' 8 p yment of certain indebtedness listed therein, seconded by Alderman Wedua, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Burris, Darata, Beard, Legaazd and Wedua. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 2001-84 Approved Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No.2001-84 on its second reading and upon passage of same, become Ordinance No. 2001-84, seconded by Alderman Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Darata, Beard, Legaard, Wedua and Burris. Motion carries. Northwood Road Discussion Frank Weatherford, TranSystems spoke regazding proposal submitted to the City March 19, 1999. No action was taken. On January 18, 2001 another proposal was prepared addressed to Dick Winner. The Mayor explained one half of Northwood road is owned by the Special Road District and the other half by the City of Riverside. When the final contract is signed by Mike Pursell with Damon Pursell Construction, dirt will be sold off of the hill to the levee district which wil] be about a year or more project. Kansas City, Mo. needs to be contacted as to what they are planning to do from NW 52nd Street to NW Prairieview Road. Frank indicated there wasn't anything in their five year. He suggested the City build a 3-lane at a cost saving of approximately $150,000. The interchange was discussed on NW Tullison Rd. and I-635. The Mayor said we'd discuss this with TranSystems at another time. O'Neal Electric- Carnival and Bell Tower Alderman Darata moved to approve O'Neal Electric's proposal, Alternate #1, $28,922. for Carnival and Bell Tower P Power Approved ower, seconded by Alderman Legaazd, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Legaard, Beard, Flaws, Wedua and Burris. Motion carries. ,~ Miracle Recreation- Alderman Darata moved to approve purchasing two (2) shelter houses, 2 Shelter Houses from Miracle Recreation Equipment Company, each 20x20, model # at E.H. Young Riverfront Navajo, with Cupola for a total cost of $34,512, seconded by Alderman Park Approved Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Bums, Darata, Legaard, Beard, Wedua and Flaws. Motion carries.
