Home My WebLink About1911 Ratifying Certification of April 4, 2023 Election ResultsBILL NO. 2023-021 ORDINANCE NO. 1911 AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING THE CERTIFICATION OF THE APRIL 4, 2023 ELECTION RESULTS RECEIVED FROM THE PLATTE COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTION COMMISSIONERS WHEREAS, an election was held within the City on April 4, 2023 for the purpose of electing one member of the Board of Aldermen from each Ward within the City and a Non - Medical Marijuana 3% Sales Tax Question; and WHEREAS, the City has received a Certificate of Election from the Platte County Board Election Commissioners declaring the results of the 2023 Riverside General Municipal Election; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it in the best interest of the City to accept and ratify such election results as presented; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 — DECLARATION AND RATIFICATION OF APRIL 4. 2023 ELECTION RESULTS. That the Certificate of Election results received from the Platte County Board of Election Commissioners declaring the results of the 2023 Riverside General Municipal Election are hereby received and ratified by the City of Riverside as follows: ALDERMAN WARD I Steven Palma 53 ALDERMAN WARD II Robert N. Milner 42 ALDERMAN WARD III - Jason Draut 57 Question 1 — Recreational Marijuana 3% sales Tax Yes - 132 No - 50 SECTION 2 — REPEAL OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed. BILL NO. 2023-021 ORDINANCE NO. 1911 SECTION 3 — SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. The provisions of this ordinance are severable and if any provision hereof is declared invalid, unconstitutional or unenforceable, such determination shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this ordinance. SECTION 4 — EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval. BE IT REMEMBERED that the above was read two times by heading only, passed and approved by a majority of the Board of Aldermen and approved by the Mayor of the City of Riverside, Missouri, this 18th day of April 2023.
