HomeMy WebLinkAbout1927 Adopting Compensation Plan and Directing City Adminisration to Implement PlanBILL NO. 2023-036 ORDINANCE NO. 1927 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A COMPENSATION PLAN, AND DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO IMPLEMENT THE PLAN WHEREAS, City staff recommended adjustments to the ranges of the current compensation plan structure due to inflationary increases and the increasingly competitive nature of the market for employees; and WHEREAS, the City Administrator developed a compensation plan to address these issues and incorporated said plan into the proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 — Compensation Plan Adopted. The Compensation Plan, attached hereto, is hereby adopted. Section 2 — Implementation. The City Administrator is hereby directed to implement the Compensation Plan and adjust compensation accordingly. Employees will be placed in the designated compensation range based on their years of service in a similar or higher -level position. Adjustments will be no less than five (5) percent and no more than twenty (20) percent or the base of the compensation range, whichever is greater. Section 3 — Represented Employees. Represented employees will be adjusted in accordance with their duly ratified collective bargaining agreements. Section 4 — Further Authority. The Mayor, City Administrator, and other appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Ordinance and to execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other documents, as may be necessary or convenient to perform all matters herein authorized. Section 5 — Effective Date. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Board of Aldermen and approval by the Mayor. BE IT REMEMBERED that the above was read two times by heading only, PASSED AND APPROVED by a majority of the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by the Mayor of the City of Riverside this 20th day of June 2023.
