AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 110.150 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF
THE CITY OF RIVETING OF HE BOARD OF ALDERMEN FOR REGULAR
WHEREAS, Section 110.150.A. of the Municipal Code of the City of Riverside,
Missouri provides that regulaz meetings of the Board of Aldermen of the City are designated as
the first and third Tuesdays of each month; and
WHEREAS, meetings scheduled on
general election day, primary election day,
day, as defined in Chapter 115 R.S.Mo.; and
WHEREAS,
the first Tuesday of a month occasionally fall on a
general municipal election day, or special election
the Boazd of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri have determined
that it is in the best interests of the City and its residents to avoid conflicts between regulaz
meetings of the Boazd of Aldermen and election days.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Boazd of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri, as follows:
Section 1. Subsection A of Section 110.150 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Riverside, Missouri is hereby repealed in its entirety, and the following provision is enacted in
lieu thereof:
A. The regular meeting time for the Boazd of Aldermen of the City of
Riverside, Missouri, is hereby designated as the first (1st) and third (3rd) rovided,
Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 P.M. at City Hall, Riverside, Missouri; p
however, that if a regular meeting date falls on an election day scheduled pursuant
to Chapter 115 R.S.Mo. at which registered voters of the City of Riverside,
Missouri aze allowed to vote, the regular meeting shall be held on the immediately
proceeding Monday. The Mayor or any four (4) Aldermen may call a special
meeting of the Boazd of Aldermen by submitting a written notice of said meeting
to the City Administrator at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the
commencement of the proposed special meeting excluding Saturdays and
Sundays and legal holidays. It shall be the duty of the City Administrator to post
notice of said meeting at a prominent place at City Hall and to notify any
members of the news media who have requested notice of meetings of the Board
of Aldermen no less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the commencement of
said meeting. In the event there is good cause such notice is impossible or
impractical, then the City Administrator shall give such notice as reasonably
possible and the nature of the good cause justifying that departure from the
normal requirements shall be stated in the minutes.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
