HomeMy WebLinkAbout2001-11-13 SpecialMinutes of Special Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri November 13, 2001 A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall of Riverside, Missouri at 6:30 p.m., November 13, 2001. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Charles Burris, Jim Wedua, Pam Darata, Rochelle Legaard, Ray Beard and George Flaws. Also present were David Blackburn, City Administrator, John Jackson, City Engineer, Steve Crystal, John McClelland, Matt Kitzi and Kevin Bird, City Attorneys office. Discussion It was decided to have Brick Porter, President, Farmers Exchange Bank to come in and talk about the city's options for the grant process for small business owners regarding the NW Gateway redevelopment plan. Roll call The Mayor and all Aldermen responded to roll call at 7:00 p.m. Request to Alderman Flaws, moved to approve Levi Chettle, 1801 NW 45`h St. Mo Boy Scout Troop Paint benches 330 request to paint the stage and benches at the amphitheater at the Renner-Brenner Park and stage at for community service work to obtain his Eagle Scout badge. The City would buy the Renner-Brenner paint supplies rollers and supplies and when weather permits, he will begin the project. Park Approved The motion was seconded by Alderman Bums and the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Burns, Beard, Legaard, Darata and Wedua. Motion carries. City Engineer John Jackson talked about West Platte Road, whether it to be two, three or four lanes. By discussion unanimous decision, it was decided four lanes. Vivion Road east of Gateway was discussed, but the decision was to do nothing. A meeting with Pam Cook, Kansas City Power & Light Co. will be held regarding street light schedules and lines underground. Bids will be obtained regarding the tree program. Mayor's Animal control problems with the city was tabled until the next local Mayor's meeting. Comments Motion for Alderman Darata moved that the meeting go into closed session, Closed pursuant to RSMo 610.021(1), Legal Issues, RSMo 610.021(2) real estate, and Session 610.021(3) personnel issues with the City Attorney, seconded by Alderman Legaard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Dazata, Legaard, Beazd, Flaws, Wedua and Burris. Motion carries. ~~ 's_ Motion for Open Alderman Beard moved that the meeting go into open session, Session seconded by Alderman Wedua, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Beard, Flaws, Wedua, Darata and Bums.
