PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, the /7S day of October 2023. Mayor Kathleen L. Rose Robih Kincaid,Uty•Cirk' Riverside Police Department Resolution Overview AGENDA DATE: October 17, 2023 BACKGROUND: I contacted the only companies in our area that can tie an indoor radio repeater system to our existing radio system to extend coverage. Since our building renovation, radio communication in the detention and property areas has diminished, so they can no longer communicate with dispatch. This system extends the signal from those areas to connect with our tower and back to dispatch. I contacted Ka -Comm, a Harris communications company, and Commenco, which deals with Motorola. Only Ka -Comm responded with a quote to design and install the system. This was not a budget item for FY 23-24; however, it is a significant safety concern that needs to be corrected. The cost of the system is $13,366. 1 am requesting a resolution for the October 17th board meeting for the purchase of this system, not to exceed $14,700. 1 am allowing ten percent for incidentals and potential parts that could not be seen during the walk-through in our ceiling. BUDGETARY IMPACT: $14,700
