HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-02-15Minutes of Regular Meeting Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri February 13, 2000 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall of Riverside, Missouri on February 13, 2000. Those in attendance were Mayor Rule, Aldermen Ray Beard, George Flaws, Betty Burch, Brenda Teters, Pamela Darata and Rou Super. Also present were Ann Daniels, City Administrator, Louise Ruaick, City Clerk, Chief Wylie Simpson and City Attorney, Steve Crystal. Minutes, February 1, 2000 Alderman Flaws moved that the minutes of February 1, 2000 Approved be approved, seconded by Alderman Teters, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Burch, Beard, Teters, Super and Flaws. Motion carries Visitor Comment Andy Morse, 4715 NW Flintridge, Riverside, Mo. announced latter half of Troop 378 was there to observe the meeting so the troop members attending rnuki fulfill their requirements for a badge. Approval to purchase Alderman Super moved to approve purchase replacement of the replacement video equipment video cameras, monitors, etc. for the Department of Public Safety based on for Public Safety Chief Simpson, obtaining more competitive bids at the best available cost with Option 1, seconded by Alderman Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Burch, Flaws, Teters, Super and Beard. Motion carries. A discussion was Geld regarding installing ceiling fans in the Community Center gymnasium to correct heating problems. The Board requested the City Administrator call d.E. Dunn to ace who had removed the fans from the original plans. Approval to accept the bids Alderman Beard moved to accept the bids for the new City Hall, with for the new City Hall, with alternates, seconded by Alderman Super, the vote was: alternates Aye: Aldermen Super, Darata, Beard, Teters and Flaws. No: Alderman Burch. New City Hall ground- By general consent, the date set for the sew City Hall groundbreaking, will breaking be Saturday, March 4~ at 9 a.m. at City Hall. Municipal Court Report Mayor Rule announced the receipt of the court report for January. Recess A brief recess was called at 8:25 p.m. Reconvene All Aldermen and the Mayor responded to roll call and the mceting reconvened at 8:35 p.m. General Discussion Alderman Burch mentioned the vacant property on the South side of Highway 9 that is on the border of Riverside and Parkville. By general consent, the board decided if Mr. Pat Kelly wants the property surveyed he should do so, at his eapense. Approval of FY 1998-99 Bruce Gulley, CPA presented the audit report for FY 199IF99 to Audit the Mayor and the Board of Aldermen. Alderman Flaws, moved to accept the audit report, seconded by Alderman Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Beard, Teters, Super, Flaws and Darata. No: Alderman Burch Motion tames. Motion for Closed Session Alderman Burch moved that the Board go into closed session pursuant to RSMO 610.021(1) AND 610.021(3) for discussion of legal matters with the City Attorney and for a personnel matter, seconded by Alderman Darata the vote was: Aye: Ahdermen Beard, Darata, Super, flaws, Teters and Burch.
