HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992 Decertify the FOP, West Central Missouri Regional Lodge Number 50 as the Bargaining Rep of the Supervisory Bargaining Unit and Declare that the Labor Agreement RE the Supervisory Bargaining Unit is no Longer in Effect BILL NO. 2024-021 ORDINANCE NO. /CI CP-- AN ORDINANCE TO DECERTIFY THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE, WEST CENTRAL MISSOURI REGIONAL LODGE NUMBER 50 AS THE BARGAINING REPRESENTATIVE OF THE SUPERVISORY BARGAINING UNIT AND TO DECLARE THAT THE LABOR AGREEMENT REGARDING THE SUPERVISORY BARGAINING UNIT IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 —FINDINGS AND PURPOSE. The Board of Aldermen("Board") finds that on March 26, 2024, the membership of the Supervisory Unit voted six (6) in favor and two (2) against on the following question: Do you wish to decertify the West Central Regional Lodge # 50 of the Fraternal Order of Police(FOP)as the exclusive bargaining representative for the bargaining unit consisting of all Corporals and Sergeants employed within the City of Riverside Police Division of the Department of Public Safety? On June 20, 2023, the Board approved Ordinance No. 1933. This ordinance approved two distinct agreements: a Labor Agreement regarding the Supervisory Bargaining Unit and a Labor Agreement regarding the Non-Supervisory Bargaining Agreement. As a result of the Supervisory Unit's successful decertification election, the Labor Agreement regarding the Supervisory Bargaining Unit is ineffectual. Ordinance No. 1933 as it relates to the Labor Agreement regarding the Non-Supervisory Bargaining remains in effect. SECTION 2-DECERTIFICATION.The Board hereby decertifies the West Central Missouri Regional Lodge #50 of the Fraternal Order of Police as the exclusive bargaining representative for the bargaining unit consisting of all Corporals and Sergeants. SECTION 3—LABOR AGREEMENT NO LONGER IN EFFECT. The Labor Agreement regarding the Supervisory Bargaining Unit, as approved by Ordinance No. 1933, is hereby declared to be no longer in effect. SECTION 4—AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT. For the avoidance of doubt, the Board states and affirms that Ordinance No. 1933 as it relates to approval of the Labor Agreement regarding the Non-Supervisory Bargaining Unit remains in effect. SECTION 5 — EFFECTIVE DATE.
