of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Mo.
July 11, 2000
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was
held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on July 11, 2000 at 7:30 p.m.
Those in attendance were Mayor Betly Burch, Aldermen Ray Beard, Andy Morse,
Pam Darata, George Flaws, Ron Super and Rochelle Legaard.
Also present was Louise Rusick, City Clerk.
Minutes, June 27, 2000 Alderman Morse moved that the minutes of June 27, 2000 be
not approved at this corrected and approved at the neat Board of Aldermen
meeting meeting, seconded by Aldermen Darata, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Beard, Morse, Super, Flaws, Darata and
Legaard.
Comments by Visitors Ed Rule, 3820 NW 50"' St, Riverside, Mo. asked about the
progress of the NW Gateway project since the engineer had
left. He was told the engineer had been replaced and their
were four (4) easements to be obtained.
He also asked about E.S. Ehinger (contractor) removing the
footings at the P1C Plaza and was told they would be
removed.
Charles Burns, 4504 NW Apache, Riverside, Mo. asked
about the five (5) brick houses on NW Platte. He was told
they were being demolished.
Municipal Court Report Mayor Bureh announced the Municipal Court Report had
been received for June.
Bill No. 2000-61 Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No. 2000-61 on its first
Payment of Bills reading, said Bill authorizing the payment of certain
indebtedness listed therein, seconded by Alderman Morse,
the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Morse, Super, Flaws and Darata.
Abstain: Alderman Beard.
Motion carries.
Ordinance No. 2000.61 Alderman Morse moved to place Bill No. 2000.61 on its
Approved second reading and upon passage of same become Ordinance
No. 2000-61, seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Morse, Super, Flaws, Darata and Legaard.
Abstain: Alderman Beard.
Motion carries.
Motion to approve Alderman Morse moved to table the changes in fees for
changes for Comm. Community Center deposits and other suggested changes,
Center deposits & seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was:
other changes tabled
Aye: Aldermen Morse, Super, Flaws, Darata, Legaard and
Beard.
Motion carries.
Proclamation on behalf of Alderman Morse moved to approve a proclamation on
the Susan G. Komen Breast behalf of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
Cancer Fdn, Aug. 13, 2000 proclaiming August 13, 2000 "Kansas City Race for the Cure
Approved Day", seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Beard, Morse, Super, Flaws and
Darata.
Resolution for Support
of Platte County to wn-
tinue to collect a'/: cent
sales tax for parks, trails
and storm water control
Motion carries.
Alderman Morse moved to approve a resolution for support
of Platte County Question 1, August, 8, 2000 Ballot Issue
stating the county will continue to collect a'/: cent sales tax
and starting January 1, 2001 it will be dedicated entirely to a
ten-year county park, trail and storm water control plan,
seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was:
Aldermen Legaard, Beard, Morse, Super, Flaws and Darata.
Motion carries.
Comments from Visitors, Ed Rule asked about We City winning the Trillium
Aldermen and Mayor condemnation and he was told they have ninety days to
appeal.
Alderman Legaard stated the storm sewer boxes need
cleaned on NW Merrimac and Public Works will do this
task
Alderman Flaws would like a list of Building Permits issued
and a list of Business licenses issued in the City.
Mayor Burch stated eighty-five (85) City Administrator
applications bad been received and now bas been narrowed
down to nine (9) with interviews starting Saturday, July 15"'.
Adjourmnent By unanimous decision, the meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
