A RESOLUTION APPROVING PARTICIPATION IN THE 2024 KANSAS CITY
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LEADERSHIP EXCHANGE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce conducts an annual Leadership
Exchange Program as an opportunity for regional business leaders and elected officials to learn
from the experience of other communities in areas including regional collaboration,
transportation planning and workforce development;and
WHEREAS, the 2024 Leadership Exchange Program will review the efforts of Twin
Cities, Minnesota and identify opportunities for the Kansas City region to model solutions based
on successful efforts in Twin Cities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Riverside has been and continues to support collaborative
regional efforts that improve the quality of life, health and safety for residents of our City and the
region;and
WHEREAS, the Civic Council of Greater Kansas City has offered a $1,000 scholarship
to support the City's participation in the program with the remaining $2,750 to be funded through
the City budget.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE,
MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the Board of Aldermen hereby approves the City's participation in the 2024
Leadership Exchange program through the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and designates
Mayor Kathy Rose as the City's representative for the program;and
FURTHER THAT the Mayor, the City Administrator, and other appropriate City
officials are hereby authorized to take any and all actions as may be deemed necessary or
convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Resolution and to execute and deliver
for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other documents, as
may be necessary or convenient to perform all matters herein authorized.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside,
Missouri,the 21st day of May 2024.

reflect a $1000 discount thanks to the Civic Council scholarship. Invoice total will be$2750 and includes
charter flight, meals,ground transportation and a robust agenda full of tours,panels, breakouts,and

Dear Mayor Rose:
The 2024 KC Chamber Leadership Exchange for regional business
leaders and elected officials is headed to the Twin Cities in Minnesota,
September 23-25,and we would value your attendance and
participation as a regional elected executive leader.This will be the
22nd year for the Leadership Exchange promising practices trip that
focuses on KC regional opportunities and challenges using the lens that
another metro area provides. And, what a lens the Twin Cities region
provides,from new focus on revitalizing under resourced
neighborhoods, to initiatives to reduce crime and improve justice,
increase access to childcare and utilize regional strategies to plan and
invest in transit and transportation infrastructure. We will also take a
look at the Twin Cities sports economy as well as its corporate
headquarters'economy. As you know,the trip is a terrific way to build
relationships with other area elected and business leaders.
Through the continued generosity and support of the Civic Council of
Greater Kansas City,we would like to offer you a$1000 scholarship to
help with the $3,750 Leadership Exchange registration fee for this year's
study mission. Please review some of the trip details below and
respond to this email no later than May 22 to let us know if you will be
able to join us for this important benchmarking trip to a thriving peer

Trip Dates: Monday,September 23 to Wednesday,September 25,

Leadership Exchange Program Focus Areas include:
1. The recipe for regional cooperation between Minneapolis and St.
Paul
2. Public safety and justice—how Minneapolis was changed by the
death of George Floyd and what should KC learn from it
3. Innovation in early education/childcare systems
4. What is the secret sauce to retaining all of the Fortune 500
companies located there
5. Regional Transit Planning
6. Lessons from the Center for Economic Inclusion and the
GroundBreak Coalition working on creating generational wealth and
improving access to housing
Registration Fee: $3750
Registration Includes: Roundtrip charter air travel,two night's lodging
at the Emery Autograph Collection Hotel, meals,
ground transportation and a robust schedule of
tours, meetings, panels and discovery sessions
during the trip.

Final Deadline: May 22. Space is very limited and demand is
very high for the Leadership Exchange. Do NOT
wait to notify us of your intent to participate on
a partial scholarship this year. The KC Chamber
regrets that this invitation is not transferable

you with a special link for your digital
registration.
