Minutes of Special Meeting
of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri
August 17, 2000
A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in
the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on August 17, 2000 at 6:00 p.m.
Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Ron Super, Andrew Morse, Pam
Darata, Rochelle Legaard, Ray Beard and George Flaws.
Motion for Closed Alderman Legaard moved that the meeting go into closed session pursuant
Session to RSMO 610.021(3) personnel issues, seconded by Alderman Morse, the
vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Morse, Legaard, Beard, Darata and Super.
Motion carries.
Motion for Open Alderman Darata moved that the meeting go into open session, seconded by
at 7:55 p.m. Alderman Legaard, the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Morse, Legaard, Beard, Darata, Super and Flaws.
Motion carries.
Approval to Appoint Alderman Morse moved to approve the appointment of David Blackburn as
David Blackburn City Administrator and to make him a salary offer of $70,000 annually, plus
as City Admini- employee benefits and to pay relocation expenses. In addition, while
strator commuting between Trenton and Riverside, the Board of Aldermen
approved the use of a city car while in town and $500 a month car allowance
until he relocates to the area, or for first six months, whichever comes first,
seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Beard, Darata and Flaws.
No: Alderman Super and Beard.
Motion carries.
Discussion for It was decided to have Gerald Johnson, Shafer, Kline and Warren come to
NW Cherokee the August 24s' board meeting to discuss their proposal for the drainage
drainage proposal improvements on N.W. Cherokee.
Motion for Closed Alderman Darata moved that the board go into closed session pursuant to
Session RSMO 610.021(3) personnel issues, seconded by Alderman Legaard, the
vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Beard, Darata, Flaws, Super, Morse and Legaard.
Motion carries.
Motion for Open Alderman Flaws moved that the meeting go into open session, seconded by
Session Alderman Beard, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Legaard, Morse, Flaws, Super, Darata and Beard.
Motion carries.
Bid amounts Mayor Burch announced the bid amounts for concrete improvements from
from contractors RE. Sparks Const., $17,800, Metro Contracting, $21,140 and Inter Const.
for concrete Co., $21,400 on the E.H. Young Riverfront Park
improvements
on the Riverfront Pk
Motion to Adjourn By unanimous decision the meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
