R — 2024-100 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PATROL RIFLES FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OFF THE MISSOURI COOPERATIVE GOVERNMENT CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $23,460.00 WHEREAS, the Police Department has the need to purchase patrol rifles and electronic sights as the current fleet of equipment is over fifteen years old; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities through the cooperative bidding process; and WHEREAS, funds for such purpose were budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 budget; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of patrol rifles and electronic sights for the Police Department, from GT Distributors, off the Missouri Cooperative Government Contract, in an amount not to exceed $23,460.00. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: THAT, the purchase of patrol rifles and electronic sights for the Police Department, from GT Distributors, off the Missouri State Government Contract in an amount not to exceed $23,460.00 is hereby authorized and approved; and FURTHER THAT the Mayor, City Administrator, Police Chief, or a designee, are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto. t{PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, the day of August 2024. • • • etide.-/Arteeft,a,c_ yor Kathleen L. Rose T ATTE T Robin Kincaid', City Clerk Riverside Police Department Resolution Overview &Sa� OFFICER AGENDA DATE: August 6, 2024 BACKGROUND: This request is to purchase new weapons for the police department, specifically our patrol rifles. Our current fleet of equipment is over fifteen years old and has passed its serviceable life. The purchase of these new rifles will include the rifles themselves, electronic sights for better accuracy and shot placement, thus reducing stray rounds, and weapon-mounted light sources. The purchase will be from GT Distributors utilizing a cooperative Missouri purchase agreement. This request is part of the 2024-2025 fiscal budget that was approved by the board. BUDGETARY IMPACT: $23,459.54
