R-2024-105 A RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER 3 TO THE AGREEMENT WITH ROYAL CONSTRUCTION SERVICES, LLC FOR RIVERSIDE POOL AND RESTROOM IMPROVEMENTS RESULTING IN A REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT OF $3,357,507.92 FOR SUCH PURPOSES WHEREAS, the City of Riverside ("City") issued an Invitation to Bid for the Riverside Pool and Restroom Improvements (Project No.222-087, LWCF 29-01759) ("Project")which was awarded to Royal Construction Services, LLC ("Royal") pursuant to Resolution R-2024-038; and WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen finds that it is in the best interest of the City to approve Change Order 3 to the agreement with Royal, resulting in a total revised contract amount not to exceed $3,357,507.92. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE,MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: THAT Change Order 3 to the Agreement between the City and Royal, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is approved and the Mayor is authorized to execute the same on behalf of the City. The resulting revised total contract amount shall not exceed $3,357,507.92. FURTHER THAT the Mayor, City Administrator and all other required city officials are authorized to take such other actions and/or execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other documents as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Resolution. Bids received varied significantly in cost. Staff determined it was best to take more time to evaluate this alternate instead of including it in original bid award. This additional evaluation allowed us to prepare the exact scope of needs and obtain a lower cost than the original bid alternate. This change is within the project budget. BUDGETARY IMPACT: An additional $17,062.00 is requested. Original Contract Amount $3,305,000.00 Total of Previous Changes $35,445.92 Total this Change Order $17,062.00 Current Contract Total $3,357,507.92 RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends approval of the resolution and acceptance of the change order with Royal Construction Services, LLC.
