Minutes of Regular Meeting of Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside September 19, 2000 A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall of Riverside, Missouri on September 19, 2000. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen Beard, Morse, Super, Flaws, Darata and Legaard. Also present, were Louise Rusick, City Clerk and Deborah Polk, City Attorney's offices Minutes, August 29, 2000 Alderman Flaws, moved that the minutes of August 29, 2000 be Approved approved, seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Beard, Super, Flaws, Darata and Legaard. Abstain: Alderman Morse. Motion carries. Minutes, September 5, 2000 Alderman Legaard moved that the minutes otSeptember 5, 2000 Approved approved as corrected, seconded by Alderman Morse, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Beard, Super, Morse, Flaws and Legaard. Motion carries. Visitors Comments Michael Anderson with Richard Connor Riley & Associates, 511 Delaware, Kansas City, Mo. spoke to the board in favor of telecommunications, i.e. placing wireless radios on utility poles. The board decided there would be a meeting regarding the telecommunications companies. Wayne Snyder, 4909 NW Merrimac, Riverside, Mo. speaking to the board members and Mayor on behalf of the Park Board regarding the Community Center. He suggested opening at 7am- 9:30 a.m. on Saturday's for open gym and program activities. The Park Board unanimously agreed. Amendment approved Alderman Morse moved to amend the second paragraph in the kn Community Center Community Center policy under General Policies to read, Policy to change hours between dte hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1 a.m., seconded by Alderman for multipurpose rental Darata the vote was: Aye: Alderman Darata, Legaard and Morse No: Alderman Super, Beard and Flaws. Aye: Mayor Burch, breaking the tie. Motion carries. Kansas City Mech. Alderman Super moved to approve the change order for Kansas Change Order City Mechanical in the amount of 51,806.00, seconded by Approved Alderman Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Super, Darady Beard, Legaard, Morse and Flaws. Motion carries. Midland Steel Alderman Super moved to approve the change order for Midland Change Order Steel in the amount of 52,161.00, seconded by Alderman Flaws, Approved the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Beard, Legaard, Morse, Flaws and Super Motion carries. Julius Kaaz Co. Alderman Beard moved to approve the change order for Julius Change Order Kaaz Co. in the amount of 52,290.00, sernnded by Alderman Approved Morse, the vote was: Aye: Alderman Beard, Legaard, Morse, Flaws, Super and llarata. Motion carries. Brochure printing Alderman Morse moved to approve the printing of 3,500 at Bears brochures at Bears Printing for Community Center programs at a Approved cost of 5465.00, bulk rate with a total cost of brochure and mailing, $1,700, seconded by Alderman Super, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Beard, Super, Morse, Flaws and Legaard. Motion carries. Building Permit Alderman Flaws moved to approve the building permit for Lowell for Lowell & Gloria and Gbria Hickman, 3601 NW 50"' St:, Riverside, Mo., sccondcd Hickman by Alderman Morse, the vote was: Approved Aye: Aldermen Morse, Super, Flaws, Darata; Legaard and Beard. Motion carries. Building Permit Alderman Flaws moved to approve the building permit for Diam~e for Dianne Harrison S. Harrison, 5013 NW High Drive, Riverside, Mo., seconded by Approved Alderman Darata, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Beard, Super, Morse, Flawa and Legaard. Motion carries. Alderman comments Aldermen Legaard said the sidewalk on NW Merrimac near the residence at 3005 NW Merrimac has a chunk broken out of it. Jim Trimble Jim Trimble, 3303 NW Forhill Rd., Parkville, Mo. made several made several pro- proposals to the board regarding (50'" Street). Bill No. 2000-76 Alderman Super moved to plaee Bill No. 2000-76 on its first Ratifying acceptance reading, said Bill ratifying the acceptance of bids on 55,502,264.36 of bids on 53,502,264.36 as listed therein, seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was: Ordinance No. 2000-76 Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 2000-76 on its second Approved reading, and upon passage of same become Ordinance Na. 2000-76, seconded by Alderman Morse, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Morse, Super, flaws, Darata and Legaard. Motion carves. Bill No. 2000-77 .Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 2000-77 on ib first Payment of Bills reading, said Bill authorizing the payment of certain indebtedness listed therein, seconded by Alderman Flaws, We vote was: Aye: Aldermen Super, Dsrata, Beard, Legaard, Morse and Flaws. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 2000-77 Alderman Morse moved to place Bill No. 2000-77 on its second Approved readwg and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 2000-77, seconded by Alderman Beard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Beard, Darata, Legaard, Flaws, Morse and Super. Motion carries. Approval for Parkhill All Aldermen unanimously agreed to approve Parkh~ South High High School Parade school having their Homecoming parade on city streeb October 16, City Streeb. 2000. Work Session date set The Mayor aed board members will meet Tuesday, September 26"' at 7 p.m. for a work session. Potluck dinner set for Thursday, September 28"` at 6 pm. at the Community Center to show appreciation for Fall Festival workers. The employees Christmas party is set for Sunday, December 10'~ at 5 p.m. at the Community Center. Christmas in the Renner•Brenner Park set for Thursday, December 7"' at 6 p.~. Motion for Closed Session Alderman Beard moved that the Board go into closed session pursuant to RSMO 610.021(1) for discussion of legal issues with Deborah Polk, City Attorney's office, seconded by Alderman Morse, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Super, Beard, Morse, Legaard and Flaws. Motion carries. Motion for Open Session Alderman Beard moved that the meeting go into open session, seconded by Alderman Morse, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Beard, Darata, Super, Oaws, Morse and Legaard.
