HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-10-10 Special..~ Minutes of Special Meeting Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri October 10, 2000 A special meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall of Riverside, Missouri on October 10, 2000. Those in attendance were Mayor Betty Burch, Aldermen George Flaws, Pam Darata, Ron Super, Ray Beard, Rochelle Legaard. Alderman Andy Morse, absent. Also, present was Deborah Polls, City Attorney's office. Visitors Comments Robert Hack, V.P. Pricing & Regulatory Affairs, Mo. Gas Energy regarding the 3420 Broadway, Kansas City, Mo., Jim Hampton, Director, Eatemal the City of Riverside Affairs, Southwestern Bell Tele. 140 Gallatin, Liberty, Mo.,Richard Telecomm. Telthorst, President, Mo. telecommunications Industry Assoc., 312 Ordinance East Capitol Ave., Jefferson City, Mo. 65102, C.J. Masterson, McLeod USA, 11225 College Blvd, Ste 320, Overland Park, I{s 66210. Jim Hampton, Southwestern Bell expressed concern with delay of their work and suggested the City to use the Missouri Municipal Leagues right of way ordinance. Richard Telthorst, President ,Missouri Telecommunications Industry Assoc. said the City should be limited to cost for managing the right of way and charge no other fees. Deborah Polk spoke about the City's interest and rights referring to the Mid America Regional Council telecommunications consortium. Bill No. 2000.83 Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No. 2000.83 on its first reading, Payment of Bills said Bill authorizing the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein, seconded by Alderman Super, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Super, Legaard, Beard and Flaws. Absent: Alderman Morse. Motion carries. Ordinance Alderman Darata moved to place Bill No. 2000.83 on its second No. 2000.83 reading, and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. Approved 2000.83, seconded by Alderman Legaard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Super, Flaws, Beard and Legaard. Absent: Alderman Morse. Motion carries. 1- r _" . Ordinance Alderman Beard moved to approve amending Ordinance No. 2000 No. 2000-82 82, authorizing the payment of certain indebtedness in the amount of Payment of Bills $336,267.50, and placing it on its first reading, seconded by Amended Alderman Legaard, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Super, Darata, Beard, Legaard and Flaws. Absent: Alderman Morse. Motion carries. Ordinance Alderman Super moved to place Ordinance No. 2000-82 on its No. 2000-82 second reading, and upon passage of same become amended Amended and Ordinance No. 2000-82, seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was: Approved Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Darata, Super, Beard and Legaard. Absent: Alderman Morse. Motion carries. Shafar, Kline Will investigate the cost of the cul de sac and additional construction & Warren- dis of the street 135'-150' square feet of right of way that Gatewoods cussion of 50'" St Dev. will vacate. Motion for Closed Alderman Flaws moved that the meeting go into closed session Session pursuant to RSMO 610.021(1) for discussion of legal issues with the Deborah Pock, City Attorney, seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Flaws, Darata, Legaard, Beard and Super. Absent: Alderman Morse. Motlon carries. Motion for Open Alderman Super moved that the meeting go into open session, Session seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Beard, Darata, Super, Flaws and Legaard.
