Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri
January 19,1999
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri was
held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on January 19,1999 at 7:30 p.m.
Those in attendance were: Mayor Ed Rule, Aldermen Ron Super, Brenda Teters,
Aye: Alderman Teters, Super, Fktws, Darata,
Burch, and Beard.
Motion Carried.
Pamela Darata, Betty Burch, Ray Beard and George Flaws.
Also present were Ann Daniels, City Administrator, Louise Rusick, City Clerk,
Chief Robert Bayless and Steve Crystal, City Attorney.
Minutes, January 5,1999 Alderman Burch moved that the
Approved minutes for January 5,1999 be approved
as corrected, seconded by Alderman Darata,
the vote was:
Christmas Decorations
Chief Bayless- addressed
several issues requested
by Park Hill South High School
Amt Daniels, City Administrator, reported
Public Works is nearly done taking down
Christmas decorations.
After discussion, the board agreed
to have the City Attorney, Steve Crystal
prepare a draft bo set policies including
these issues for the board's review:
(1) An agreement detailing when school
officials should report minor (third
degree assaults;
(2) False fire Alarms Ordinance,
making it city wide (burglar and fire).
(3) Parking & Handicap; Handicap only,
but city wide.
(4) Truancy, city-wide

Payment of Bills.
Ann Daniels, City Administrator, reported
Shafeq Kline and Warren are finalidng the
plans for street improvements on Florence
and NW SO"'.
Ann Daniels, reported she met Operations
Superintendent, Niched Gray with Missouri
American Water Co. and the water Co. will
have the water tower cleaned this year.
All filings for election were concluded on
January 19"' with We following residents
filing:
Ward I- Ron Super
Ward II: Ray Beard
Ward III- Pam Darata and Kann Gordy.
A short discussion was held regarding
the City Engineer, Dick Winner's,
High Drive progress report.
Alderman Flaws moved that the Mayor
and anyone who decides to may
attend the Kansas City Mayor's Prayer
Breakfast; sernnded by Alderman Tatars, We
vote was:
Aye: Alderman Bunk, Flaws, Teters, Dsrata,
Super and Beard.
Motion Carried.
Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 99-
06 on its first reading, said Bill provides for
the payment of certain indebtedness as listed
therein, seconded by Alderman Tatars, the
vote was:
Aye: Alderman Tatars, Flaws, Darata, Burch,
Beard and Super.

A recess was caged
and We meeting reconvened.
Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No. 99-
06 on ib second reading, and upon passage of
same become Ordinance 99-06, sernnded by
Alderman Teters, We vote wae:
Aye: Aklermsn Flaws, Beard, Burch, Darats,
Super and Teters.
Motion Carried.
Alderman Burch moved that We Park Board
send two members on two different days to
Columbia, Mo. for the MPRA rnnference
costing 5155.00, seconded by Alderman
Darata, the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Burch, Super, Darata, Teters,
Flaws, and Beard.
Alderman Darata expressed concerns
by residents in Ward III regarding
animal control . Ann Daniels
said she has been in contact with Platte
County about the City of Riverside's usage
regarding this matter and is awaiting
Weir response.
Karen Gordy, 5110 NW High Dr., Riverside,
Mo. expressed concern about people running
We stop sign at Northwood Rd and We
High School entrance. Chief Bayless said he
would investigate.
A recess was caged and We meeting
reconvened. Those present were Mayor Ed

Flaws. Alderman Burch was absent. Also
present were Ann Daniels, City
Administrator, Steve Crystal, City Attorney
and Louise Rusick, City Clerk.

Adjournment:
Alderman Teters moved that the meeting go
into closed session, seconded by Alderman
Flaws, the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Super, Darata, Beard and
Flaws.
Absent: Alderman Burch.
Motion Carried.
Alderman Beard moved that the meeting go
into regular session, seconded by Alderman
Flaws, the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Darata, Flaws, Super, Teters,
and Beard.
Absent: Alderman Burch.
Motion Carried.
Steve Crystal, City Attorney is preparing
a draft regarding telecommunications and
right-of-way here in the City.
Alderman Flaws moved the meeting adjourn,
seconded by Alderman Beard, the vote was:
Aye: Alderman Super, Beard, Flaws, Darata,
and andTeters.
Absent: Alderman Burch.
Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at
9:25 p.m.

session pursuant to RSMO 610.021(1) for discussion of legal
issues of legal issues, seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote
was:
Aye: Aldermen Super, Darata, Beard and Haws.
Absent: Alderman Burch.
Motion Carried.
Into Regular Session Alderman Beard moved that the meeting to into regular
session, seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Darata, Flaws, Super, Teters and Beard.
Absent: Alderman Burch.
Motion carried.
Discussion on tele- Steve Crystal, City Attorney is preparing a draft
communications regarding telecommunications and right of-way here in the
City.
Adjournment: Aldermen Super, Beard, Flaws, Darata and Teters.
Absent: Alderman Burch.
Motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 9:25 p.m.
