R-2025-067 A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE MARC 2025 MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN WHEREAS, the City of Riverside recognizes the threat that natural hazards pose to people and property within Riverside; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside has participated in the preparation of a multi- jurisdictional local hazard mitigation plan, hereby known as the 2025 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray Counties, hereafter referred to as the Plan; and WHEREAS, the Plan identifies mitigation goals and actions to reduce or eliminate long- term risk to people and property in Riverside from the impacts of future hazards and disaster; and, WHEREAS, adoption by the City of Riverside demonstrates their commitment to hazard mitigation and achieving the goals outlined in the Plan and affirms that the Plan will be updated no less than every five years; and WHEREAS, the final draft Plan prepared by the Mid-America Regional Council has been reviewed by SEMA and is expected to be approved by FEMA. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI: THAT the 2025 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan for Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, and Ray Counties, and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby authorized, approved and adopted as the City of Riverside 2025 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan; and FURTHER THAT the City Administrator and/or Mayor are hereby authorized to implement and execute the actions in the Plan as well as execute any and all documents necessary to carry out the terms and conditions of such Plan and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto.
