The Mayor, City Administrator, HR Manager, and all other appropriate City officials are authorized to take such other actions and/or execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other documents as may be deemed necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Resolution. Section 3. This Resolution will be effective from and after the date of its approval. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, the 17th day of June 2025. Kathleen L. Rose, Mayor ATTEST: Robin Kincaid, City Clerk 100.5 Safety Incentive Program The goal of the City is to limit the risk of injuries, accidents, and general liability through a solid loss control program. A safety incentive program incentivizes employees to follow all safety protocols and to conduct their work in safe manner, so as to protect the lives of their co-workers, the general public, and themselves. Fewer workplace injuries increase productivity due to less time off work, improve the work environment, and reduce the actual cost of injuries. Eligibility This policy applies to all employees, including all part-time employees. Employees must be employed for the entirety of the fiscal year to qualify. Incentive Every employee who works the entire fiscal year, from July 1 to June 30, without being the cause of a preventable accident or injury will be placed into a prize raffle at the Safety Award Luncheon each July. The raffle prize item(s) will be valued between $500-$1,000. This safety incentive is not part of the City's regular compensation and benefits structure. It is offered at the beginning of each fiscal year as a reward for meeting safety expectations during the prior year. It is not a bonus for past service. The raffle is a method of distribution among qualified employees, not a gratuitous prize. Reporting The loss year will run on a fiscal year. All accidents and injuries must be reported and will be included when determining awards. Not reporting an accident, as well as not reporting an accident in a timely fashion, will result in disqualification from the raffle. Accident Defined Accidents are defined as preventable Worker's Compensation claims, vehicle accidents with damage to City of Riverside vehicles, or property, and general liability accidents where another person is injured or property is damaged and a payment was made by the City's insurer. A preventable accident is one in which the employee failed to do everything he or she could have reasonably been expected to do to prevent it. Each quarter, the Safety Committee will review all accidents/incidents and determine if the accident was preventable or not. All accidents deemed preventable by the Safety Committee will result in the employee's disqualification from the raffle.
