Minutes of Regular Meeting
Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri
July 20,1999
A regular meeting of the Board of Aldermen for the City of Riverside, Missouri, was held in
the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on July 20,1999.
Those in attendance were: Mayor Ed Rule, Aldermen Ron Super, Brenda Teters, Pamela
Darata, Betly Burch, Ray Beard and George Flaws.
Also present were Ann Daniels, City Administrator, Louise Rusick, City Clerk and Steve
Crystal, City Attorney.
Minutes, July 13,1999 Alderman Burch moved that the minutes of July 13,1999
Approved be approved, seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Beard, Burch, Teters, Flaws, Super and Darata.
Motion Carried.
Comments by Visitors:
Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn Poe, 3002 NW Florence, Riverside, Mo. asked
if shrubs are to be planted along retaining wall according to plans.
Also they mentioned the trash dumpster is 35' from their door and
requested it be moved towards the backside of their house. Dick
Winner, City Engincer will investigate.
Municipal Court Report Mayor Rule reported the Municipal Court Report was received for
the month of June.
Public Works Report Mayor Rule stated asphalting was being done in front of his house.
City Administrator Report Ann Daniels, City Administrator reported Congresswoman Danner,
Congressmen Bond and Aschroft are sending correspondence soon
regarding the Post Office matter.
Bill No. 99-52 Alderman Teters moved to place Bill No. 99-52 on its first reading,
Payment of Bills said Bill provides for the payment of certain indebtedness as listed
therein, seconded by Alderman Beard, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Beard, Burch, Teters, Flaws, Super and Darata.
Motion Carried.
Ordinance No. 99-52 Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No. 99-52 on its second reading,
Approved and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 99-52, seconded by
Alderman Super, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Burch, Teters, Flaws, Super, Darata and Beard.
Motion Carried.
Bill No. 99-53 Alderman Darata moved to place Bill No. 99-53 on its first reading,
Ratifying Bid's said Bill provides for ratifying acceptance of bids on 57,.562,253.23,
on $7,562,253.23 seconded by Alderman Teters the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Beard, Burch, Teters, Flaws Super and Darata.
Motion Carried.

Bill No Motion Carried.
Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 99-54 on its first reading,

Accepting Bids on said Bill provides for ratifying acceptance of bids on 59,075,000.00
$9,075,000.00 seconded by Alderman Super, the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Teters, Flaws, Super, Darata, Beard and Burch.
Motion Carried.
Ordinance No. 99-54 Alderman Super moved to place Bill No. 99-54 on its second reading
and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 99-54, seconded
Approved by Alderman Teters, the vote was:
Aldermen Flaws, Super, Darata, Beard, Burch, Darata and Teters.
Motion Carried.
Alderman Burch's Alderman Burch asked Steve Crystal, City Attorney for an
inquiry regarding Levy explanation regarding the bill for 513,247 and he explained.

Motion for Closed Session Alderman Burch moved the meeting go into closed session pursuant
7:40 p.m. to RSMO 610.021(1) for discussion of legal issues and 610.021(3) for
discussion of personnel issues, seconded by Alderman Teters, the
vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Teters, Darata, Flaws, Beard, Super and Burch.
Motion Carried.
Motion for Open Session Alderman Burch moved the meeting go into open session at 9:40
p.m., seconded by Alderman Super the vote was:
Aye: Aldermen Burch, Teters, Darata, Flaws, Super and Beard.
Motion Carried.
General Discussion: Ann Daniels reported (21) twenty-one applications have been
received for the Chief s position, all from various states.
Adjournment: By general consent, the meeting adjourned at 9:40 p.m.
