R-2025-110 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A NEW JOHN DEERE 410P BACKHOE WITH WERKBRAU ANGLE BROOM ATTACHMENT FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT THROUGH MURPHY TRACTOR AND EQUIPMENT, KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI OFF THE SOURCEWELL CONTRACT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $179,880.00 WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has a need of a John Deere 410P Backhoe with a Werkbrau 8' Angle Broom attachment; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside in the adoption of its purchasing policy has approved the practice of purchasing equipment from competitive bids awarded by other governmental entities through the cooperative bidding process; and WHEREAS, the Local Government Purchasing Contract through Sourcewell No. 011723-JDC was competitively bid and awarded to Murphy Tractor and Equipment, 8600 NE Parvin Road. Kansas City, Missouri 64161. to purchase such equipment; and WHEREAS, funds for such purpose were budgeted in the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget; and WHEREAS, the City of Riverside finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Riverside to authorize and approve the purchase of a new John Deere 410P Backhoe with Werkbrau 8' Angle Broom attachment from Murphy Tractor and Equipment. Kansas City, Missouri 64161, purchasing through Sourcewell Contract pricing in an amount not to exceed $179,880.00. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: THAT, the purchase of a new John Deere 410P Backhoe with Werkbrau 8' Angle Broom from Murphy Tractor and Equipment, Kansas City. Missouri 64161, from the Sourcewell Contract #011723-JDC pricing in an amount not to exceed $179,880.00 is hereby authorized and approved; and FURTHER THAT the Mayor, City Administrator, Public Works Director or other designee, is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary or incidental to this transaction and the City Clerk is authorized to attest thereto. The backhoe will be purchased from Murphy Tractor and Equipment using the Sourcewell Contract # 011723-JDC. BUDGETARY IMPACT: The adopted 2025-2026 fiscal budget included $180,000.00 for the purchase of a John Deere 410 P backhoe with broom. The total cost of the John Deere 410 P backhoe with broom is $179,880.00
