A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF AN AUTOPULSE CPR
DEVICE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE,
MISSOURI AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the Board approves the purchase of an AutoPulse CPR device from ZOLL
Medical Corporation in the amount $25,146.98 in accordance with the attached Quote No. Q-
114747; and
FURTHER THAT the Mayor, the City Administrator, the Fire Chief, and other
appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to take any and- all actions as may be deemed
necessary or convenient to carry out and comply with the intent of this Resolution and to execute
and deliver for and on behalf of the City all certificates, instruments, agreements and other
documents, as may be necessary or convenient to perform all matters herein authorized.

Re: Purchase of a Zoll Auto Pulse System CPR device
BACKGROUND:
In the 2026 FY budget, the Fire Department budgeted $25,000 from the Public Safety Sales Tax for the
purchase of a Zoll Auto Pulse NXT CPR device to upgrade our 2017 model year device.
We are using this device more frequently. When we do, it stays with the patient while being transported to
the hospital, and it is starting to show its age as it has needed maintenance more often. Furthermore,
technology has undergone significant changes since 2017. This new device, the Zoll Auto Pulse NXT
CPR, offers specific benefits, including improved patient care, faster response times, and enhanced data
collection, making it a crucial upgrade. This new one will become our front-line use device.
These devices have proven invaluable to our crews and citizens, playing a crucial role in saving lives.
Their continued use is essential for maintaining our emergency response capabilities.
The purchase is available through Zoll Medical via the National Purchasing Partners (NPP) Cooperative
bid agreement, ensuring a cost-effective procurement process. Additionally, by purchasing a unit similar
to the one we have, we do not need to purchase additional chargers for the batteries, as well as other
accessories, further optimizing our budget.
The equipment to be purchased is the Auto -Pulse® NXT System. Additionally, this purchase includes 3
spare batteries, a case, straps used to secure the patient to the device and two recommended preventive
maintenance work recommended over the first 48 months.
RECOMMENDATION:
Based on our assessment, the staff strongly recommends the approval of the resolution to purchase one
(1) Zoll Auto -Pulse NXT system for $25,146.96. This decision is crucial for maintaining our emergency
response capabilities.
