Minutes of Regular Meeting November 2,1999 Board of Aldermen of City of Riverside, Missouri A regular mceting of the Board of Aldermen of We City of Riverside, Missouri was held in the City Hall in Riverside, Missouri on November 2,1999. Those in attendance were Mayor Ed Rule, Aldermen Ron Super, Pamela Darata, Brenda Teters, Betty Burch, George Flaws and Ray Beard. Also present were Ann Daniels, City Administrator, Louise Rusick, City Clerk, Chief Wylie Simpson and City Attorney, Steve Crystal Minutes, October 19,1999 Alderman Beard moved that the minutes of October 19,1999 be Approved approved as corrected, seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Darata, Burch, Beard, Teters, Super and Flaws. Motion carries. Comments by Visitors: Kurt Eckard, 5116 NW Merrimac, Riverside, Mo. requested the City pays an invoice from Aylett Survey for surveying on certain property 6e owns. He contends the rnrner survey pins were removed during grading construction involving High Drive Kurt said the contractor only put 2 pins back in place and Dan, with Damon Pursell Construction, said to bring the bill to City Hall. Dick Winner, City Engineer will glue Damon Pursell Constrnctioa We bill and ask Weir position on it Also, Kurt addressed the board on Sreworks issues. Dennis Varbk; Hcefer Dennis Varble, Hcefer, Wysocki, Architects presented small seb of Wysocki, Arehitecb We new City Hall drawings to We Board. He explained the changes made to reduce We rnst to We City for We new City Hall. The Board asked him to bring an estimate and list of all We changes at a later date. OWers Comments: Alderman Burch Alderman Burch traveled SO'" St. and reported We street is checkered terribly and feels We street needs overlay immediately. It was We Board's consensus to have Dick investigate and make a recommendatMn to Wem. Alderman Burch reported Irene PauWe, 4700 NW Petronella Ln., Riversfde, Mo. will bring We plat to her property to determine if asphalt can be placed in We right-of-way. Chief Wylie Simpson stated We Halloween Party at We Community Center was very beneRcial and Wey hsd a good turn out. T Ann Daniels, City Administrator reported ads have been placed for the City Engineer and Parks and Recreation position. Two (2) public hearings are being held on November 16"'. Municipal Court Report Mayor Rule reported the Municipal Court Report was received for the month of October. Bill No. 99-81 Alderman Flaws moved to place Bill No. 99-81 on its first reading, Payment of Bills said Bill authorizing the payment of certain indebtedness as listed therein, seconded by Alderman Burch, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Burch, Beard, Teters, Super, Flaws and Darata. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 99-81 Alderman Teters moved to place Bill No. 99-81 on its second Approved reading, and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 99-81, seconded by Alderman Burch, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Beard, Teters, Super, Flaws, Darata and Burch. Motion carries. Bill No. 99-82 Alderman Burch moved to place Bill No. 99-82 on its first reading, Authorizing the employ- said Bill authorizing the employment of Sharon Owen as Building meat of Sharon Owen Maintenance Custodian and setting a salary for same, seconded by as Building Maintenance Alderman Beard, the vote was: Custodian Aye: Aldermen Teters, Super, Flaws, Darata, Burch and Beard. Motion carries. Ordinance No. 99-82 Alderman Beard moved to place Bill No. 99-82 on its second reading, Approved and upon passage of same become Ordinance No. 99-82, seconded by Alderman Flaws, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Super, Flaws, Darata, Burch, Beard and Teters. Motion carries. Recess at 8:35 p.m. A brief recess was called. Reconvene at 8:50 p.m. The Mayor and all Aldermen responded to roll call and the meeting reconvened. Motion for Cbsed Session Alderman Super moved that the meeting go into closed sesaion pursuant to RSMO 610.021(1) for discussion of legal issues with the City Attorney, seconded by Alderman Darata, the vote was: 2 T Aye: Aldermen Super, Beard, Darata, Burch, Flaws and Teters. Motion Carries. Motion for Open Session Alderman Beard moved that the meeting go Into open session at 9:15 p.m., seconded by Alderman Burch, the vote was: Aye: Aldermen Beard, Darata, Super, Flaws, Teters and Burch. Motion carries. Alderman Burch announced a change to the date for Christmas in the Park would be on Thursday, December 16m.
