AN ORDINANCE CONFIRMING THE APPOINTMENT OF A CITY PROSECUTOR FOR
THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, BY MAYOR KATHY ROSE
WHEREAS, there is a vacancy in the position of City Prosecutor within the City of
Riverside; and
WHEREAS, Section 110.040 of the City Code establishes the appointive office of
City Prosecutor and Section 79.230 RSMo. provides for the appointment of such office
by the Mayor with the consent and approval of the majority of the members of the Board
of Aldermen; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has recommended Michael Marta be appointed to the
position of City Prosecutor; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen find it is in the best interest of the citizens of
the City of Riverside that the appointment of Michael Marta as City Prosecutor be
confirmed and approved ;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY
OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 -APPOINTMENT. The appointment of Michael Marta as City
Prosecutor of the City of Riverside, Missouri is hereby confirmed.
SECTION 2 -SALARY AND BENEFITS. The salary for the position shall be
$19,886.00 annually. The position shall be part-time, and no additional benefits are
provided. Fees and expenses in connection with appeals from the Riverside Municipal
Court shall be paid on an hourly rate to be approved by the City Administrator prior to any
fee or expense being incurred.
SECTION 3 -SEVERABLITY CLAUSE. The provision of this ordinance are
severable and if any provision hereof is declared invalid, unconstitutional or
unenforceable, such determination shall not affect the validity of the remainder of this
ordinance.
SECTION 4 -EFFECTIVE DATE. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon passage.

PASSED AND APPROVED by a majority of the Board of Aldermen and APPROVED by
the Mayor of the City of Riverside, Missouri, this 16 th day of December 2025.
