ORDINANCE NO. ~'D ~/ AN ORDINANCE ENACTING A NEW SECTION OF THE CRIMINAL CODE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI MAKING IT AN OFFENSE TO COMMIT THE OFFENSE OF PERJURY AND ESTABLISHING PENALTIES THEREFOR TO , BE KNOWN AS SECTION 24.027 OF THE CRIMINAL CODE OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 24.027 of the Criminal Code of Riverside, Missouri, is hereby adopted as a part of said criminal code to read as follows: 24.027 PERJURY. No person shall with the purpose to eceive nowingly testify falsely upon oath or affirmation legally administer in any official proceeding before any Court, public body, notary public or other officer authorized to administer oaths. It is a defense to a prosecution under this section that the person retraced the false statement in the course of the official proceeding in which it was made provided the person did so before the falsity of the statement was exposed. Section 2. THE OFFENSE OF PERJURY as created under this ordinance to e known as Section 4.027 of the Criminal Code of the City of Riverside, Missouri, shall be punished as provided in said criminal code by punishment of a fine not less than One Dollar ($1.00) or more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the City Jail for a term not exceeding ninety (90) days or by both said fine and imprisonment.
