HomeMy WebLinkAbout2154 Amending Section 600.080 of City Code Relating to Liquor License ApplicationsBILL NO. 2026-020 ORDINANCE NO. 2154
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 600.080 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO
LIQUOR LICENSE APPLICATIONS
WHEREAS, Section 600.080 of the City Code currently requires liquor license
applications to be "signed and sworn to by the applicant"; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to facilitate electronic and online submission of liquor
license applications; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen finds that requiring applicants to sign a
declaration under penalty of perjury on liquor license applications adequately preserves
the City's ability to refer materially false statements for prosecution under §575.060,
RSMo., and that elimination of the notarization requirement does not diminish
accountability or enforcement authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE
CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 -ADOPTION OF AMENDMENT. That City Code Section 600.080.A is
hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 600.080.A Application for License.
A. Each application for an original or renewal license shall be filed with the City Clerk
on a form provided by the City. Each application shall be signed by the applicant
and shall include the following declaration: "I declare under penalty of perjury that
the foregoing information is true and correct to the best of my knowledge and
belief." Each application shall be accompanied by a proper remittance reflecting
the appropriate license fee made payable to the City.
SECTION 2 -EFFECTIVE DATE. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and approval.
