AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING A CITY SALES TAX, FIXING THE RATE THEREOF, PROVIDING FOR
AN ELECTION ON THIS ISSUE, AND FIXING THE FORM OF THE BALLOTS OF SAID ELECTION ~~
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN of the City of Riverside, Missouri:
Section 1. TAX IMPOSED. A City Sales Tax is hereby imposed on the privilege
of engaging in the business of selling tansible personal property or rendering
taxable services at retail to the extent and in the manner prescribed in Sections
144.010 to 144.510.
Section 2. EXEMPTIONS. The Sales Tax is hereby imposed on all sales and
services at retail provided the same are not exempted by Sections 144.010 to
144.510.
Section 3. RATE OF TAX. The rate of said tax shall be 1 per cent on all sales
and services at retail provided the same are not exempted by Sections 144.010 to
144.510.
Section 4. ELECTION. An election as required by Section 94.510 is hereby set
for April 1, 1975, to determine the sense of the voters relative to this ordinance.
Section 5. FORM OF BALLOT. The form of Ballot shall be as follows: ,~
