AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE
BUILDING PERMIT AND PROVIDING
AND FIXING THE AMOUNT THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Building Permits - No building or st ucture
shall be erected, constructed or altered o repaired ~f there
is to be any change or addition to the roo~, unless t e Board
of Aldermen has issued a building permit. Applicants for
building permits shall tender the following fees with their
applications to the City Planning Commission:
or other charitable organization to build a building which
is to be used exclusively for church or charitable
activities., provided, the fee for residential garages
shall be $25.00.
Section 2: Floor area for the purpose of this ordinance
shall be defined as follows:
Residental Building 5 cents per square foot
Business, commercial
or other buildings 5 cents per square foot
(minimum fee for business or
commercial buildings shall
be $50.00 regardless of size)
provided that no fee shall be required for any church
Floor Area. The sum of the gross horizontal areas of
t ez-f several storys of the building measured from the
exterior faces of the exterior walls or from the center
line of the party walls. Included shall be any basement
floor, interior balconys and mezzanines, elevator shafts,
stair wells, enclosed porchs and basement area, provided
however, in residential construction the basement area
shall not be computed unless the same is to be living
space. The floor area of accessory uses and of accessory
building, except residental garages, on the same lot
shall be included.
Section 3: Repair for the purpose of this ordinance shall
be defined as follows:
Re air. Any alterations, reconstruction or conversion of
a bui ing of a cost in excess of $1,000.00.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be designated Code Section
