It 7151 AN ORDINANCE FINDING AND DECLARING THAT IT WILL REDOUND TO THE BENEFIT OF TIE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, TO EXTEND ITS CITY LIMITS OVER TERRITORY ADJACENT THERETO: PROVIDING FOR TIE CALLING OF A SPECIAL ELECTION AUTEORIZING AND DIRECTING THE SUBMISSION THEREOF OF A PROPOSAL THAT SUCH EXTENSION BE CONSENTED TO. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS; Section 1. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Riverside, Missouri, find and declare that it will redound to the city's interest to extend its city limits to include all lands lying within the following described boundaries situated in Platte County, Missouri; Beginning at the Southeast Corner of platte County, Missouri, being on the boundary line of the State of Missouri, as it proceeds along the Missouri River and being also the Southwest Corner of Section 10, North along the East Line of said Platte County to the Center of U. S. Highway 69 and 169; thence South- westerly along the Center Line of the said U. S. Highways 69 and 169 to the Intersection of the Center Line of Line Creek with said Center Line of said U. S. Highways 69 and 169; thence in a Northerly direction following along the Center Line of said Line Creek (said center line of Line Creek being also the Westerly boundary line of the town of North Moor, Missouri) to the North Line of the Southwest Quarter of Section 33, Township 51 N, Range 33 (said north line of said quarter section being also the center line of said Section 33) ; thence West along the Center Line of said Section 33 to the West Line of said Section 33 and continuing thence West along the Center Line of Section 32, Township 51 N, Range 33 to the Center of said section 32, Township 51 N, Range 33; thence South along the center line of said Section 32, to the south line of said Section 32 and continuing thence South along the Center Line of Section 5, Township 50 N, Range 33 to a point 300 feet North of the Intersection of said Center Line of Section 5 with the North Right -Of -Way of State Highway Number 45; thence West along the line parallel to and 300 feet distant from the North Right -Of -Way Line of said State Highway Number 45 to the Inter- section of said North Right -Of -Way Line of State Highway Number 45 with range line 34 W and 33 W; thence south along the said range line 34 W and 33 W to the boundary of the State of Missouri, said boundary being in the Missouri River; thence Easterly along the boundaryline of the State of Missouri said line being in the Missouri River to the point of beginning. Section 2. Since the Constitution and Laws of the State of Missouri do not confer power and authority upon the Board of Aldermen of this City to extend its city limits without the consent of a majority of the legal voters of the City voting at an election therefor, a special election is hereby ordered to be held at the voting places in said city, used BILL NO. 70 page 2. ORDINANCE NO. 70 as voting places in the last general city election, on the 2nd day of December, 1952 between the hours of six o'clock A.M. and seven o'clock P.M. or sundown of said day whichever may occur later, at which election it is hereby ordered to be submitted a proposal in proper form to determine the consent of the voters voting thereat to the extension of the City limits to the limits statedin Section 1 of this ordinance. Section 3. The extension set forth herein, if consented to by a majority of the legal voters of this city voting at said election, shall become effective immediately upon the results of said election being declared by ordinance. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to rive notice in three successive issues of the Platte County Gazette, a weekly newspaper printed and published in the County of Platte and of general circulation in the City of Riverside, the first notice to appear in the November 13, 1952 issue of said paper. The said notice shall in substance set forth that there will be held under the order of the Board of Aldermen a special election on the 2nd day of December, 1952 between the hours of six o'clock A.M. and 7:00 P.W. or sundown of that day whichever maybe later, to determine whether a majority of the legal voters voting at the election consent to the extension of the city limits to the boundaries set forth in Section 1 of this ordinance. Section 5. poll book, tally sheets and ballots to be used by the voters in said special election are hereby ordered printed and delivered by the proper officials in due time for the use of the judges and clerks of the election and the voters thereat. Said ballots shall clearly set forth the proposal herein ordered to be submitted at said election. Passed this 8 day of November, 1952. /s/ F.F.
