ORDINANCE NO. 84-R AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 84 AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE KEEPING OF SWINE, SWINE PENS, STIES AND STABLES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE AND PROHIBITING THE KEEPING OF SWINE, SWINE PENS, STIES AND STABLES IN CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Ordinance No. 84 is hereby expressly repealed. Section 2. It is deemed to be for the best interests of the citizens of the City of Riverside and for the promotion of the public health,: safety and welfare that the keeping of swine, swine pens, sties and stables be regulated within the city limits of the city of Riverside, Missouri, and that the keeping of swine, swine pens, sties and stables be prohibited within certain densely populated areas within the limits of the City or Riverside. Section 3. The word "person" whenever used in this ordinance shall include any individual, partnership, firm,. corporation, associa- tion, trustee, receiver or any other group or combination of individ- uals acting as a unit either severally or jointly. Section 4. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or maintain swine, swine pens, sties or stables for the purpose of commercial use within 200 feet of any public roads sidewalk or other public place within the limits of the City of Riverside. Section 5. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep or maintain any swine,. swine pen,. sty or stable for the purpose of com- mercial use within 200 feet of any residence or other structure used for residential purposes within the limits of the City of Riverside. Section 6. It shall be unlawful for any person to keep more than two (2) hogs or pigs for personal use upon any one established tract of land that is within 100 feet of any public place or public ground or any building used as a residence within the limits of the City of Riverside. Section 7. All swine pens shall be fenced with hog-tight wire at least 48" high. Section 8. Section 9. All persons keeping swiner. swine pens, sties and stables in violation of the terms and provisions of this ordinance on the effective date of such ordinance shall have ~~_ days from the effective date of said ordinance to cease said violation and to conform to the provisions of this ordinance. Section 10. Violators of the terms of this ordinance shall be punished by fine not to exceed $100.00 or imprisonment in the city jail,. or county jail if there be no city jails not to exceed 80 days or both su3i fine and imprisonment and costs.
