AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION
HELD IN THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, ON JAINIUARY 27, 1953,
AT ,:HICH ELECTION THERE i WAS SUBMITTED TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS
OF SAID CITY A PROPOSITION TO GRANT TO TF1E GAS SERVICE
COMPANY, ITS SUCCESSORS A'iD ASSIGNS, FOR TEIE FULL TERM OF
TWENTY YEARS, A GAS FRANCHISE AS SET OUT IN ORDINANCE NO. 80.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN OF THE CITY OF
RIVERSIDE, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That it is hereby found and determined that
the vote at Special Election held in the City of Riverside,
Missouri, on January 27, 1953 for the purpose of voting on a
proposition to grant to the Gas Service Company, its success-
ors and assigns, for the full term of twenty years, a gas
franchise as set out in Ordinance No. 80, resulted as follows:
"For Gas Franchise Ordinance No. 80 - 82 ballots"
"Against Gas Franchise Ordinance No. 80 - 15 ballots"
Section 2. That it is hereby found and declared and
determined that more than a majority of the qualified voters
of the City of Riverside, Missouri, voting at the Special
Election held in said city on January 27, 1953, voted in favor
of granting to the Gas Service Company, its successors and
assigns, for the full term o2 twenty years, a gas franchise
as set out in Ordinance No. 80, and it is further found,
declared and determined that said Ordinance No. 80 is now in
full force and effect as provided by law.
Section 3. That it is further found, declared and deter-
mined that notice of said election was duly given and published
in the manner provided by law, and the said election was duly
held and conducted in all respects in conformity with the
Constitution and laws of tha State of Missouri, and in accord-
ance with all ordinances adopted by the Board of A'adermen of
the City of Riverside, Missouri.
Passed this 3rd day of February, 1953.
