Section 1. It sh all be unlawful for any person, within the
limits of the city, to shoot or discharge any gun, revolver, air
rifle or air gun, pistol, or firearm of any description, whether
the same be lo.~.ded :•~ith poi~ader and ball or shot; with loaded or
"blank" cartridges, or with any kind of explosives Trrhatsoever;
provided, that nothing contained in this section shall apply to
nersens discharging f'iremans in defense of person or property;
and nothing contained in this section shall apply to legally
qualified sheriffs or police officers and other persons whose
bona fide duty is to execute process, civil or criminal, make
arrests, or aid in conserving the public peace; provided, further,
that at military funerals or patriotic observances firing squads
composed of members of veterans associations, or of members of the
United States or State military or naval forces, may fire salutes.
Section 2. Violation of this ordinance shall be punishable
by fine not to exceed ~j;100.00 and the costs or 30 days imprisonment
in the city prison or in the county jail, if there be no city prison,
or both such fine and imprisonment.
